Reading

4th Quarter Reading Requirements

1.	Locate good books that tell great stories, that are at your reading level/ability.
2.	Make sure that the books you choose have an AR test.
3.	Read and enjoy the books!  Pay attention to detail, and be sure you understand the sequence of 
events.
4.	When you finish a book, do the following:
a.	Record the book in your reading log.  This includes the bibliography as well as a brief summary 
and opinion.
b.	Take the AR test for the book.  Remember, you can only take it once, so be sure you are ready!  
Try to take the test as soon after reading the book as possible, while the details are still fresh in your 
mind.
c.	Record your AR score in your reading log.

5.	Read AT LEAST three books this quarter, and take the corresponding tests.  If you read more 
than that, I will take your top 3 scores for your grade.  Your tests must match up with the information 
in your reading log!


We will have the library and Computer Lab 1 reserved for us every WEDNESDAY from 1:30 to 2:32 
p.m.   During that time, you may read your book, take an AR test, or both.  This is time you can 
count on!

Any books that you read and test on between the dates of April 14th and  June 4th can count for 4th 
quarter. 

Your grade will be based half on your test scores, and half on the quality and completeness of your 
reading log.  

Your completed reading log is due  Wednesday, June 4th, by the end of the school day.

3rd Quarter Reading Requirements:

icon)

3. Read and enjoy the books!  Pay attention to detail, and be sure you understand the sequence of 
events.

4. When you finish the book, do the following:
     a. Record the book in your reading log.  This includes the bibliography as well as a brief summary 
and opinion.
    b. Take the AR test for the book.  Remember, you can only take it once, so be sure you are ready!  
Try to take the test as soon after reading the book as possible, while the details are still fresh in your

    c. Record your AR score in your reading log.

5. You do not have to report to me when you have taken a test; I will check my record page 
frequently 
to keep track of your progress.

6. Read AT LEAST three books this quarter, and take the corresponding tests.  If you read more than 
that, I will take your top 3 scores for your grade.  Your tests must match up with the information in 
your 
reading log!
