Mrs. Tara Longfellow
Tillicum Elementary School
My name is Tara Longfellow. This is the start of my fifteenth year of
teaching at Tillicum Elementary. It is my first year in second grade. I
have taught third grade for a year, a four/five split class for a year and
fifth grade for ten years and fine arts K-5 for two. I earned my Bachelor's
Degree in Education from Pacific Lutheran University and my Master's Degree
specializing in Technology from University of Washington. I am also
Nationally Board Certified as a Generalist.
I am married to Brent and we have three wonderful children. My oldest,
Corey, is a Senior in High School. Samantha is a fifth grader. My youngest's
name is Sabrina and just started third grade. We have a dog named Sadie who
is a very hyper black lab.
My hobbies include scrapbooking, reading a lot of books, and riding my bike.
Most of my time is spent as a Girl Scout leader and chasing after my kids
when I am not at school
I firmly believe that all students can learn. I also believe that students
can do that within an environment where they feel safe to take risks and
make mistakes. Our class will build that environment by establishing our
class roles, responsibilities and respect for each other.
