Message from the PrincipalWelcome to Tyee Park! I am proud to work alongside a dedicated team of professionals, whose mission is preparing our children for a successful future. We believe in doing whatever it takes to help students achieve, which includes providing extra learning time during and outside the school day, partnering with families to help children come to school ready to learn, and offering tips and resources to support your child’s learning at home. Families are a child’s first and most important teacher; families and teachers together can provide children with every opportunity to achieve. We continue to develop systems to improve communication with families, and invite you to come by and find out how you can participate in our school community and share how we can better meet your child’s needs. Every month we have Family Coffees in which we invite community resource partners to share information with families, as well as have the Tyee Park staff available to answer your questions. Upcoming Family Coffee dates are May 17 and June 7. Hope to see you there! At our last two Family Coffees we provided helpful information on helping your child prepare for the upcoming state assessment, the Measurement of Student Progress. The most important things you can do it home are:1) Encourage your child to do his/her best, 2) Ensure he/she gets lots of rest, and 3) Remind him/her to eat a good breakfast (at home or at school). Thank you for partnering with us to make your child's learning experience the best it can be!Gail Gillis, Principal
