WELLNESS - NOVEMBER 16-20
Project Alert continues with lesson 3. Assignments will be done in class.
WELLNESS = NOVEMBER 9-13
Project Alert continues with Lessons 2 and 3. An assignment went home
last week from Lesson 1 titled "Test Your Drug IQ". This was to involve a
family member. This is due Monday, November 9th.
WELLNESS - NOVEMBER 2-6
All of the students are together again. Project Alert will begin. A
letter of information will be coming home. Lessons 1 and 2 will be covered -
introduction to drugs, alcohol tobacco.
WELLNESS - Week of September 30-October 5
Will be covering anatomy and HIV/AIDS curriculum-all done in class fourth
period. HIV/AIDS will continue through October 5th. Starting on October 12th,
the boys will be in social issues for three weeks, and the girls will return
to the regular Wellness clasS.
WELLNESS-OCTOBER 19-23 and October 26-27 - Human sexuality and HIV/AIDS for
girls only

Reading summaries started last week and will be required every day that
there is SSR. At this time, they are writing about what happened in their
book for the pages they read in class. They are not required to write
summaries about the pages they read outside of class.

3. Every student needs to find a picture of himself/herself for a
project next week. This picture should just be of the 'student' no larger
than 3 1/2" by 3 1/2". The picture should be brought to school next
Wednesday, September 30th or sooner.

1. Redo Mug #1 if the student is unhappy with their grade from Weds.
2. Finish geography handout on legend and scale and grade if time.

The atlas and interview activities did not take place last week due to a
fire drill and time needed to collect forms.
SSR-sustained silent reading will start this week and will be a daily
routine in first and fifth periods.

WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 9-11-BLOCK
WEDNESDAY-SEPTEMBER 9
1. Student information form will need to be filled out by the student/parent
by Monday, September 14.
2. Any student interested in being an ASB representative from 5th period
block, needs to answer three questions before the class on Friday, September
11. I'll give the questions to those students interested.
3. Any student who does not have a 70-page spiral on Wednesday will need one
on Thursday to do a writing assignment.
THURSDAY-SEPTEMBER 10
1. We will have started a written scavenger hunt using the agenda on
Wednesday and will finish today.
2. Interview activity--Each student will interview another student with a set
of questions I give them. They will need to present the information to the
class on Friday and Monday, September 14.
3. Review of background on geography. Will do an atlas assignment in class.
4. I will be showing the speech given by President Obama in both the morning
and afternoon blocks. This is mentioned in the parent letter that was handed
out on Wednesday. If you have any objections with your son/daughter viewing
this speech, please let me know by e-mail.
FRIDAY-SEPTEMBER 11
1. In first and fifth periods, we will be going to the library to check out
an AR book. Students can explain this. This will be the book to be read in
September.
2. Complete working on the interview and atlas.
3. Listen to speeches for ASB representative in 5th period only.
