Behavior<o:p></o:p>
Students participating in sports represent <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Woodbrook</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Middle School</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> to the public. The appropriate behavior expected of all students during school is also expected of all student-athletes, en route to and from games, while participating in athletic contests, en route home on the sport bus, and in the community prior to and after school. <o:p></o:p>
Any in school difficulties arising between school staff and student-athletes will have a priority over practice sessions and competitions. For example; fines owed, after school detention, and suspensions. Student-athletes should be ever mindful of the responsibilities they have to themselves, their teammates, and their school prior to engaging in any behavior, which may cause them to be removed from the team or lose valuable practice time. 
Rules <o:p></o:p>
<o:p>Detention: If students receive more than two detentions in a season there will be a meeting with the Athletic Director, Head Coach and student athlete.&nbsp;This meeting will determine future actions regarding discipline of the student, which could result in removal from team.&nbsp;The Head Coach will contact parents/guardians regarding the outcome of the meeting and will communicate future consequences that may occur.&nbsp;&nbsp;Coaches may have stronger policies and can add on to consequence.&nbsp; 
Steps: Student athletes who choose step 3 will serve after school detention (ASD) the same day.&nbsp;Students will attend ASD for the hour and will then attend team practice for the last hour.&nbsp;Athletes will have an individualized practice that will cover skills/conditioning that they missed while in ASD.&nbsp; Students who choose Step 3 will serve at the next available detention, if this falls on a day of competition- the student will not compete. Students who reach Step 3 twice in one day are automatically suspended for the following school day and will not participate in practice.<o:p>

Suspension: A student athlete will not be allowed to attend practice or games on the day(s) the suspension is served, nor will he/she be allowed to attend practices or games until the suspension is served.&nbsp; <o:p></o:p>

<o:p></o:p>
Smoking: The possession or use of smoking materials or tobacco when participating in or attending any <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Clover</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">Park</st1:PlaceType> <st1:PlaceType w:st="on">School District</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> activity is prohibited.<o:p></o:p>

Any student apprehended or otherwise trafficking in illegal drugs, narcotics, or marijuana in school, on school property, or at a school-sponsored event may be suspended or expelled. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p>&nbsp;</o:p>
Discipline: by definition, shall mean all forms of corrective action or punishment other than expulsion and suspension and shall include the exclusion of a student from an activity. <o:p></o:p>
Suspension: by definition, shall mean a denial of attendance from school and activities for a specific number of calendar days.<o:p></o:p>
Expulsion: by definition, shall mean denial of attendance from school.<o:p></o:p>

Practices: Athletes are required by WIAA and NFHS to complete 10 practices (12 for football) before their first game/meet. <o:p></o:p>
