Kindergarten News

Week of September 14, 2009

We continue to work really hard here in kindergarten! There are so many new routines and things to learn. We are very proud of ourselves.

Just a few things you need to know about this week!

  • We will have our first pryaer service of the year (prepared by 2nd grade) on Thursday at 1:00 in the church. You are welcome to join us.
  • Scholastic book orders are coming home this week. They are due back on Friday 9/18.
  • We have been working on the correct formation of the letter Mm. I will be sending home a practcie page that your child can work on. These do not need to be returned. To assist your child with correct technique, please refer to the handwriting page that was included in you parent folder that was handed out at our parent meeting.
  • Please continue to read to your child on a daily basis. Record the titles on your child's reading log. Return the log in your child's folder on Mondays.
  • Due to the clothing resale, we will be eating our lunches in the classroom on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Please put 2 napkins in your child's lunch every day. One is used as a placemat (we do our best to keep germs away) and the 2nd is used to wipe fingers and faces.
  • Some snacks are still coming to school in lunchboxes and the children wind up eating half of their lunch before we notice. . Please place your child's snack in one of the pockets of their backpack and make sure they know where it is.
  • On Friday, we will be having our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Day. I have lots of CCBB related activities prepared for the boys and girls. Their CCBB t-shirt will be waiting for them when they arrive on Friday. They may wear them right over their uniform and will be able to take them home at the end of the day.

As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
