Wow! Already fourth quarter! Please choose one of the following options for
your final independent study project of the year. Neatness, understanding the
artist and his style, size and color, and originality of the piece will all be
considered in the grading process. Enjoy your work!

1. Pablo Picasso- after viewing the painting “The Three Musicians”, students
will create an original cubist work of art. On one paper draw any three
related objects in pencil and then trace in black marker. Cut the paper into
large sections and reassemble on another paper in a puzzle fashion,
overlapping small area if necessary. Place another paper on top of this one
and trace the objects and the puzzle piece outlines. Color the foreground in
cool colors and the background in warm colors or vise-versa. Use pastels or
paint blending the chosen color scheme. 12x18” finished size.
2. Van Gogh-Recreate Vincent’s famous sunflowers in a vase only you may make a
collection of any object coming out of any type of container. Pastels,
construction paper crayons and paints will work well.
3. Sculpture-Begin with a wire coat hanger. Bend it into the desired form
and secure it to a base that will support its weight and size. Pull a
pantyhose leg over the wire and secure it at the base. Prime the pantyhose
with a light colored latex paint and allow to dry overnight. Then paint an
original design over the entire sculpture
