Hello to all. Please check calendar page for 2nd grade info.

If there are any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me.

If any family is willing to donate Hefty one zip quart size plastic bags,
our class could use these too this year. The students store their markers
and crayons in these bags. We could also use an electric pencil sharpener.
Madi's family generously donated one in September, but 1 more could be of
good use. Thanks!

Here is the cranberry-orange bread recipe:
2 cups sifted flour 1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar 1 egg,beaten
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1 tsp. grated orange peel
1 tsp. salt 3/4 cup orange juice
1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 1/2 cups light raisins
1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda into a large bowl.
Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Add egg, orange peel, and orange
juice all at once; stir just until mixture is evenly moist. Fold in raisins
and cranberries. Spoon into a greased 9X5X3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350
degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
Our class did not add raisins. Enjoy!
Here's the request for the apple pie dough:
2 cups flour, 1/2 tsp. salt, 2/3 cup shortening (we used lard), and about 7
Tb. cold (ice) water. Sift flour and salt together. Add the shortening
(lard), add enought ice water and kneed well so the dough sticks like a ball.
