Literature

The students will finish the dramatic reading of “A Christmas Carol”.  The students are analyzing the historical significance and Charles Dickens’s purpose in writing the novel.  In addition, the students are learning about the elements of drama, the symbolism imbedded in the writing, and how/why Scrooge’s changes.

 

Language Arts

The students will be tested on the verb chapter on January 14^th (Thursday).

 

Writing – The students will write a character sketch after they finish reading “A Christmas Carol”.

 

In addition, the students will begin a unit on persuasion.

 

Vocabulary

Unit 3 test is on January 8^th.  The review test for Units 1, 2, 3 is on January 15^th.

 

Independent Reading
