Mr. Clarksen has worked in Jefferson for ten years. He
currently serves as chair of the Language Arts Department as well as
directing the fall one-acts and spring play or musical. Also, this is Mr.
Clarksen's second year as co-advisor of National Honor Society.
This year his teaching load includes English 10, Language Arts 10, Myth/Sci
Fi/Fantasy, AP English, and Intro to Theatre (semester 1 only). Mr.
Clarksen's past responsibilities have included coaching Forensics and
teaching American Literature, Writing for College, and Creative Writing. In
addition, Mr. Clarksen semi-regularly teaches summer school, including the
World of Drama course (1 summer), and currently Writers Workshop (3 summers),
Theatre Production (2 summers), and English 9/10 (2 summers).
Mr. Clarksen is a 1996 graduate of Washington High School in Two Rivers and a
2001 graduate of UW-Whitewater where he double-majored in English and
Theatre. He lives in Whitewater with his wife, two children, and one
cat. In his freetime he enjoys grading papers, reading, and listening to
many different kinds of music (primarily alternative and indie).
