As we see families in and around the community and talk with co-workers, it seems not everyone is 
aware of the schedule change for this next school year.  Each Wednesday all students across the 
district will be released at 2:15. You'll notice when you receive your district calendar, late starts and 
early releases have been all but eliminated as a result.  Why, exactly, you may be asking...  Staff 
members will participating in professional development activities, at grade levels, curricular areas, 
building specific, and as a district, on a rotating schedule each Wednesday, until 4:30.

Summer is in full-swing and we want to thank all of our students and families from this past school 
year for a wonderful year.  We wish our out-going sixth graders all the best in the middle school.  
We are excited to watch this year's sixth graders take on the role of "older."  And we look forward to 
meeting our new incoming fifth graders on Tuesday, September 1st.

As you look to the Lake Bluff web site for materials needed for the first day of school, know that our 
list on the Lake Bluff homepage :http://www.shorewoodschools.org/main/our_schools/lakebluff.cfm 
"behind" the School Pak icon: http://schoolpak.com/pdf/p190web.pdf is the one we want you to 
fulfill.

Feel free to purchase these things on your own or through School Pak, the choice is yours.  Mr. 
Pandya and Mrs. Miller have ordered folders and notebooks for the students and will ask families to 
reimburse us at the beginning of the school year. 

This way all students will have the same type and colors of folders and notebooks so they can be 
used for specific content areas in the same way throughout the school year.
