"Leaping for the Lord"
Welcome to the Kindergarten Room
2011-2012
Dear Parents,
My mission is to share the love of Jesus to your children as I strive to
provide a loving and caring environment for the children where they can
develop spiritually, emotionally, socially, physically, and cognitively. Our
classroom is a place where children are encouraged to take risks. We value
the process as well as the product, and understand that all children are
unique individuals. The students are kept moving around. They work all over
the room, with various levels of noise. There will be times when the
classroom will be buzzing with excitement and there will be times when they
will work quietly. Our classroom environment reflects real, relevant teaching
and learning. The language process (listening, speaking, reading, and
writing) will be a part of our classroom each day. Play and exploration is
also a large part of our classroom. The work of children is play. Each child
learns and grows academically and socially from playing with peers.
We have a very special opportunity here at Lebanon Lutheran. We have the
ability to bring Jesus into every aspect of what we do. This will remind the
children of their baptismal promise and help to enable them to share our Lord
with others.
In all, we will know we are forgiven and saved, and that we are a part of a
special family at home, school and in the community, and with our Savior Jesus
Christ.
It is indeed a pleasure to have your child in my class. To start off the year
right, I am sending this Parent Survival Handbook that has been assembled to
explain vital information that will enable us to make this a very rewarding
and positive year. I feel that open lines of communication between the
parent, student, and teacher are key in promoting an educational climate that
is conducive to learning. I am looking forward to working with you and your
child. Together we can make a difference!
Sincerely,
Kiki Damrow
