You are responsible for purchasing your own “care products” for your
instrument. (If you are renting, these items may be included in your "rental
package".) If you are using a school instrument or you own your own, please
make sure that you have these items in your case at all times! The items
below can be purchased at any music store.
Trumpet: Valve oil
Slide grease*
Horn: Rotor oil
Slide grease*
Trombone: Slide Cream

Baritone: Valve oil

Tuba: Valve oil

*****I prefer the SELMER, tuning slide/cork grease.*****
Valves must be oiled once a week. Never let them get dry. The more you
play, the more often they need to be oiled.
Never force a stuck mouthpiece! DO NOT try to remove the mouthpiece with a
pliers. Please bring it to school or a music store where we have the correct
tools for removal.
