A RIDE  ON  THE POLAR  EXPRESS

What an exciting day we had on our Polar Express Train ride!!! Read about our adventures and look at our pictures of our memorable journey. We hope you enjoy this as much as we did!!!

Because the Polar Express picks up children during the middle of the night, we wore pajamas, robes, and slippers.

Ms. T-L, the Polar Express conductor, punched our tickets as we boarded the train.

We listened to two versions of The Polar Express, and we counted the number of similes in each story.

All of the students boarded the train with their most prized possession. We wrote descriptions about our special items, and we included similes in our writings.

We enjoyed hot chocolate and "chocolate candies with nouget centers as white as snow" just like the children in The Polar Express. (Thank you parent volunteers for the delicious treats!!)

Each student received a momento of their Polar Express journey which included a candy cane, a hot chocolate packet, and an attached bell. Just like the boy in the story, we all heard the bell ring!!
