T&L
Bank of Rosholt
The T&L Bank of Rosholt provides the students in
our classroom with hands-on activities to learn math, business, and decision
making skills. A local carpenter built the bank for our room. At the beginning
of the year, a loan officer from the local bank spoke to us about deposits,
withdrawals, interest, savings books, and bank careers. T-L Bucks are earned
sporadically throughout each week for following rules, showing
"above-the-line" behavior, neatness, and being responsible. Each Friday
afternoon, we get an opportunity to visit the T&L Bank. We give our money to
the banker (one of the students in our class), and the money is put into our
savings accounts. Quarterly interest is calculated every nine weeks. We
withdraw money from our accounts once a quarter for our classroom auction.
