You wouldn't believe how the room looks now. Clean as a clean whistle. Even
Ms. Mahaffey's table is completely cleared off! It's creepy. Shadow just
went on his first home visit. Check the parent page to see where his tour
will go this summer. Another big thank you to families who volunteered to
take him in.

Fuzz has left the building. He went on vacation and will soak up some sun
and try out some of the great restaurants of the world. When you see a
plane, look up and wave because it just might be Fuzz up there!

The kids have done a good job of raising money for the horse we are
sponsoring out west. Clover will be taken care of in part with the donation
of $49.18 collected by the students this past week. In exchange for donation
money, they did chores around the house which parents paid them for. The
check will be sent in this weekend.

We know you are all of in different directions during the summer, and we
didn't get a chance to say proper goodbyes. May we take this opportunity to
tell you that this has been a wonderful year, one of the best we've had in a
long time. If we could think it, the kids could do it.

There was no lack of parent volunteers and we'd like to thank our three room
parents for all they have done. Amy, Kristen and Gina...you kept it all
moving forward and we appreciate it so very much.

To all the parents who supported our ideas, worked with their children so
diligently at home, followed through and did what they could to participate
this year, thank you as well. There are so many moving parts that go into
creating a classroom community, it is always so amazing when they fit
together so well.

You will be receiving a mailing from school around the third week of August.
In the event you lose the supply lists that come with it, they are usually
posted online at the Lake Bluff School website.

To those of you who invested so much in our efforts to establish the
multiage charter school, thank you. It was a big disappointment to us,
especially since the rejection was because of something we had no control
over. We have, however, learned a lot and perhaps educated the community
about what we do, why we do it and how it works.

Things were so crazy on the last day, and we were all so hurried out of
school because of the weather warnings, we weren't able to thank you
personally for the gifts. With the exception of the bread that was already
eaten, we tried to snap a representative photo.
