About The Teacher

Hello everyone!!

For those who don't know me, my name is Kathy Majerus. This is my fifth
year teaching at SJB. It's is my second year specializing in Science for all
4th and 5th grade students. Before that I taught two years in the Resource
Room and one year in a 3rd/4th grade combination class. Prior to coming to
SJB, I taught eight years at St. Matthew's Catholic School in Campbellsport.
I was the 4th grade teacher there, but also specialized in 3rd, 4th, and 5th
grade Science.

I am also excited about being the 5th grade volleyball coach for SJB. I
played volleyball during highschool and have continued to play recreationally
for the past 18 years. I hope to share my love of the game and introduce the
basics to our young athletes.

I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the
University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1991. I also have a minor in Health
Education. I have continued to take classes to keep my teaching license
current.

My husband, Mark, and I have lived in Plymouth for the past 16 years. We
have two children who attend SJB...Eric is in 8th grade and Emily is in 5th
grade. We have a sassy cat named Noel who completes our family. In my free
time I enjoy spending time with my family, playing volleyball, reading,
camping, and running.

Science is a great game. It is inspiring and refreshing. The playing field is the universe itself. (Isidor Isaac Rabi--U.S. Physicist and Nobel Prize Winner 1944)

It is my hope and goal this year for my students to always see the wonder
and excitement of Science. I want to teach them the fundamentals of
Science and let them experience those fundamentals with hands-on activities.
I hope to help them stretch their imaginations and ask "What if..?"
