Should my child have daily homework?

Yes, your child should strive for no more than 40 to 50 minutes of homework
a night. Twenty minutes should be spent on math study link, or studying
math facts (multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction) and about
30 minutes should be spent on free choice or assigned reading/SSR notebook
work.

What is a good resource to find good books for my child to read?

The Children's Cooperative Book Center is a great place to find quality
literature. Just go to your computer and press search and key in CCBC and
you should be able to locate it. Then have fun choosing.

What is an easy way to actually get the books without actually buying them?

If you have a library card, you can go to www.easicat.net and follow the

for and enjoy for free.

Should my child be keeping track of his/her reading minutes?

Yes. Every month we strive to read 30 minutes a night not counting the
weekends so our goal is about 690 minutes a month. Any amount over that is
a bonus! These calendars are turned in at the end of every month and need a
parent's signature.

How will you teach everything my child needs to know in a multiage classroom?

I use a research based style of teaching which allows me to incorporate many
of the objectives from our curriculum into my lessons that the children will
learn from. With consistent assessment and opportunities for learning,
children have incredible success and enjoyment from this style of teaching.

How can I see my child's grades before the progress/report comes out?

I use "webgrader" which allows students/parents opportunity to check grades
from the comfort of their homes. This is especially nice when you want to
check for missing assignments.
