This is my seventeenth year teaching middle school Language Arts at St. John
the Baptist and, I can honestly say that I have enjoyed each and every one
of those years--some more than others, of course, but I wouldn't change a
thing if given the chance.
I have a daughter who is 43 years old and has three children: ages 22, 20,
and 19. I also have a son who is 38, and he also has three children: ages
12, 10, and 8.
My husband and I enjoy the sport of drag racing and have spent this past
summer trailering our race car to various drag strips around the state.
We've had a great time not only being together but also meeting many
wonderful people who share a common interest.
My hope for my students is that each one learns to enjoy reading--
okay, "enjoy" may be pushing it a little, but at least find out that reading
isn't so bad. I hope each one comes to realize that there are so many
places they can go in a book that might not otherwise be possible in an
entire lifetime.
In addition to reading, the shear joy of putting pen to paper (or fingers to
a keyboard) can bring a satisfaction like no other. It is exciting for me
to be witness to a budding writer who never imagined he or she could produce
such fine work.
