Deana Gorecki and Family:
My name is Deana Gorecki and I am the kindergarten teacher at St. Joseph
School. I have taught kindergarten for 15 years and 10 have been in south
eastern Wisconsin. My husband Jim and I live in Menomonie with our three
boys; Christian, Carson and Cooper.
I am looking forward to an exciting year with you and your child. This first
year of school will begin an important partnership between you, your child
and me. Communication will be the link in that partnership. Feel free to
contact me with any questions or concerns.

My passion is to provide children with opportunities to enhance their young
minds to their fullest potential. I also recognize that there are individual
rates of development and learning across any age range. It is a wonderful
experience to help children meet developmental goals as well as learn in a
Christian environment.
When your child begins Kindergarten they need to be in an environment that
allows them to feel success, safe and to express themselves, so they have a
pleasant experience.
I believe that social/emotional development is much more important than
academic development. Children who experience these social and emotional
gains will blossom and feel success, safe and learn when the expectations of
children are appropriate. The greatest cognitive growth occurs through
social interaction.
In the classroom we work on building a classroom community and positive
interaction and discipline. To be succesful academically and socially,
children need a set of social skills.
