and parents can track progress.
Please note, your student can join SLASH at any point during the school
year.

Accelerated Reader goals are due for 3rd quarter on 3/19/2012.
AR goals are 2 books per quarter and should be at grade level. Students may
take AR quizzes.
Students may write book reports for books that are not on either
list and have been approved by me. Book reports may be written to achieve
the first quarter goal. Students who have completed first quarter goals
early can continue to work on AR that will count for second quarter.
Reading Calendar: Please encourage your student to read 15-25 minutes a day,
according to the recommended minutes on the parent letter that went home.
This is any reading they do outside of regular school work. For example:
newspapers, magazines, library books, etc. Students can count any time they
read throughout the course of the day. For example: If they have any study
time in school and they choose to read they should record those minutes on
their calendar. This is to encourage daily reading but should be met to the
best of a students ability. Please note this must be signed by a parent for
the student to receive credit.
