It was great seeing so many of you for our picnic lunch - glad you could join us! The weather was perfect, and it was a great way to end of the school year. Here is our final Top 10 list from 3rd grade!

Weekly Top 10:

10. The kids presented their maps to their peers via our Map Gallery. The kids were able to walk around and admire all of the creative ideas of their classmates.

9. We took a stroll outside to learn about solid figures and learn the vocabulary. Using sidewalk chalk, the kids were able to identify vertices, edges, faces, parallel lines, and perpendicular lines.

8. Everyone did an AWESOME job on their book projects - kudos to you all! There was such a variety of projects, ranging from Bag - a - Book presentations, to DVD recorded interviews, to letters written to the author, and many more. Great effort!

7. PENTECOST is this Sunday, marking the fiftieth day and end of the Easter Season. Ask your child about the Pentecost bible story from the Acts of the Apostles.

6. Many students have advanced to the higher list of sight words. The kids practice reading through the list and see how many words they can accurately identify in one minute. These sight words are critical to their reading.

5. In honor of Memorial Day, we took Friday to explore the holiday, why we celebrate, who we remember, and why. Thanks for all those who serve and have served our country!

4. This week, we've been perusing the Bible and identifying important "fathers" from various stories. Zebedee, Jacob, Jonah, and more! Check out their Student Planner for details.

3. Second graders visited our classroom this week to get a sneak peek at what 3rd grade is all about: responsibility, independence, and new desks! The 3rd graders were eager to tell the 2nd graders all about it.

2. We said goodbye to the 8th graders during Wednesday's Community Circle. What a great bunch of kids. We wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.

1. A HUGE thanks to all of you who contributed to or were part of the surprise baby shower that took place on Wednesday afternoon. My little girl is well-loved by your students, as told through their sweet cards and thoughtful gifts. Thank you so much for caring.
