What's New?

Here's what is happening in 4D...

Religion
We wrapped up our Family Life unit. We will be taking a closer look at the Stations of the Cross next week.

Literacy
We have finished reading the stories in Wonders. We will continue to do the Unit 6 Spelling tests, but will begin reading the book, The Birchbark House by Louise Erdrich.

Spelling
The students have a Spelling list/packet in their red folders. It is due Wednesday, March 229.

(There are two Spelling lists: O is on level and B is beyond level. Your fourth grader can choose which words s/he would like to spell for the test on Thursday. The packet is due on Wednesday and the test will be on Thursday.  The packet and test should be done in CURSIVE unless your child has made arrangements with me to print.)

Math
I decided not to send home the conversion tests. We will be revisiting the topic. Our Geometry unit is off to a great start. There are lots of new vocabulary words and concepts to learn. Therefore there will be several quizzes during this unit instead of a test at the end.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT STUDENTS SHOULD BE PRACTICING MATH FACTS SEVERAL TIMES PER WEEK AS PART OF THEIR HOMEWORK.

A great place to find support is with the MATH ANTICS video series. If you search for Math Antics and the topic you wish to explore, you should be able to find these informative and entertaining Math videos.

Science
Students should be writing their descriptions of their favorite rocks/minerals. They will be sharing them on Tuesday. Our next unit is the Human Body.

Social Studies
The students have a test on Tuesday and then they will begin studying the early people of Wisconsin.
