When does my child have Art, Music, Phy. Ed., Library, and Computer Lab?

Please click on the Class Schedule link and check out our
schedule. It's a great idea to print out a copy so you have it
when making doctor and dentist appointments.

When are the class parties? How can I help?

We have 3 parties a year: Halloween, Winter Break, and
Valentine's. Each family will be asked to help with at least
one of our parties. The parties will usually fall on the last
Friday (or last day of the week) before the weekend or vacation
break. Please let me know which party you'd like to help with.

Can I send a birthday treat to school?

Yes, but please remember that we are a Peanut Free classroom.
Out of respect for the safety of our students with food
allergies, I am asking that no baked treats be sent to school for
birthdays. If a baked treat is sent, I will pass it out at the
end of the day and strongly encourage the students NOT to eat it
until they arrive home (especially important for the bus
students). If you are sending a baked treat, please send each
piece in a plastic Zip-Loc bag. For store-bought treats, please
check the ingredients carefully before sending anything made
with peanuts, peanut oil, or any other tree nut. Again, if
treats containing these items are sent to school, they will be
held until the end of the school day and the children will be
urged to refrain from eating them until they get home.

Can I send birthday invitations to school so my child can hand them out?

ONLY if everyone in the class is invited. It is probably best to
mail all invitations directly to the invitee since I always find
several on the floor in the classroom or hallway at the end of
the day. No telling how many actually make it home when they are
delivered at school.

When is Game Day?

Game Day is held the last Friday of each month unless otherwise
indicated by the teacher. Children with 3 or fewer checks are
eligible for Game Day. Those children that are in danger of not
being able to participate have the opportunity to erase a check
mark with demonstrations of superior character or extra learning
projects. Children earn checkmarks when homework is late,
STINGER binders are forgotten, or they exhibit poor behavior
choices.

When are book orders due?

Our book orders are due on Fridays. A check is necessary for
orders submitted - NO CASH. If you wish to, beginning with
October's order, you have the opportunity to order directly on-
line. Please see the hand-out I send home with the book orders.
Any further questions should be directed to Mrs. Stelly. Our
next book order will come home at the beginning of next month.

Does my child have to eat a snack at Milk Break?

No, but be aware that if you do send a snack in for Milk Break,
it MUST be in its original packaging WITH THE INGREDIENTS
LABEL!!! This is so that I can check to make sure the snack
complies with our Peanut Free list. I cannot in good conscience
allow any child to eat a snack that may contain peanuts or tree
nuts, so if there is no label, I will not allow that snack to be
eaten in the classroom. Remember, it may be an inconvenience for
those of us who aren't allergic, but it's life and death for
those who are! If at all possible, send in the entire box of snacks
all at once so that I only have to check the ingredient label once.
I will store the snack boxes in my cupboard so that your child can
simply go to the cupboard each day to get their snack. I will send
a note home when your child's snack runs out.
