We know we're a few days late on this, but we've FINALLY posted the 5 Finalists for our Best Website contest on our Facebook page at
https://www.facebook.com/TeacherWebInc
. You have from now until midnight next Wednesday, May 22nd, to vote on your favorite. The winner will receive a free year of TeacherWeb, and the 4 runners-up will get $15 Starbucks giftcards, so vote wisely! The Finalists' websites are posted in their own photo album on our Facebook page, so check those out first, visit the sites, click around, then come back and vote via our poll.
Thanks for your participation - we were amazed by all the entries and fantastic websites that we got to review, and if you didn't end up in the Top 5, know that it's because there are so many stellar educators out there using our products to reach their students and families that it was almost impossible for us to choose.
Thanks again,
The folks at TeacherWeb

About The Teacher Label:
About The Teacher
I received my teaching license in May of 1990. Before coming to Sullivan Elementary School, I taught in the Cambridge School District for 13+ years. While I was there, I taught 5th grade, 1st grade, 2nd grade, as well as teaching a 1-3 Multiage group for 5 years. I jumped at the chance to teach in Sullivan. I have been living in Jefferson for many years with my husband and two children. This year, our home nest became empty as our son Michael returned to college to study engineering and our daughter Bailey headed off to study journalism. I bring with me a wide background of experiences to draw upon - both as a teacher and as a "civilian." I have a vast love of learning and hope to pass that on to my students. I try to learn something new every single day - lately learning much from my own students. I don't have a "favorite" subject...I love them all.
Mission Label:
Mission
In my classroom, the continuing growth of children's knowledge and understanding of themselves in their world is nurtured. I will provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment where learners are participating actively in their education. I recognize that children are unique and special individuals. My classroom accomodates the broad range of children's needs, their learning rates and styles, as well as their learning modalities. The integrated curriculum in my classroom helps students construct meaning in the world around them, and makes their learning relevant and meaningful to them. I recognize that my students grow and develop as a whole, not one dimension at a time, nor at the same rate in each dimension. My teaching reflects an understanding that children learn through active involvement and uses instructional practices that address the social, emotional, physical, aesthetic, and cognitive needs of my students. I firmly believe in the concept of teacher and parents working as partners in each child's education. Your child is the winner when the people who care about him or her work together to advance their learning. I welcome parent collaboration, consultation and involvement in order to help create for the children a climate of respect, success, and joy.
