Mission

In my classroom, the continuing growth of children's knowledge and 
understanding of themselves in their world is nurtured.  I will provide a 
safe, caring, and stimulating environment where learners are participating 
actively in their education.

I recognize that children are unique and special individuals.  My classroom 
accomodates the broad range of children's needs, their learning 
rates and styles, as well as their learning modalities.  The integrated 
curriculum in my classroom helps students construct meaning in the world 
around them, and makes their learning relevant and meaningful to them.

I recognize that my students grow and develop as a whole, not one 
dimension at a time, nor at the same rate in each dimension.  My teaching 
reflects an understanding that children learn through active involvement and 
uses instructional practices that address the social, emotional, physical, 
aesthetic, and cognitive needs of my students.

I firmly believe in the concept of teacher and parents working as partners in 
each child's education.  Your child is the winner when the people who care 
about him or her work together to advance their learning.  I welcome parent 
collaboration, consultation and involvement in order to help create for the 
children a climate of respect, success, and joy.
