Follow along and participate in class.
Have a proper work environment for homework: a nice clear spot, peace and quiet, a designated time every day, and no distractions.
Study with a buddy. This doesn't mean getting the answers from someone; But a friend can sometimes explain things so they are easy to understand. Be careful not to get caught up in socializing! ;-)
Think of some memory tricks that will help you rememBer things.
Don't wait until the last minute to review. Do a little Bit every now and then throughout the whole unit.

Talk to your teacher! Good communication manners are important for working with others. Here are some tips for talking to teacher: 1) Unless your question or comment is aBout the topic Being discussed in class, the Best time to talk to Mrs. is not always the very moment an issue pops into your head. You might have to wait for worktime or after class. If you have to wait, jot your question/comment down so you don't forget it! 2) Arguing is futile! If you come to me outside of class to say you don't like something I said, something aBout my class, a grade or assignment, I respect that. :-) If you argue in class, it keeps me from doing my joB and others from learning. I don't like that! So you see, you can say almost anything to me if you choose the appropriate time.
Understand that your education is for you. Though some students might try to do well for their parents or teachers, learning is really all about making you a smarter person. Take advantage of it!
