Week of February 23rd

 

Theme: "In the City, In the Country"

 

Monday:

*Children will be introduced to "city" and country."  We will look at pictures of each and compare them.

*Children will look at a picture card to be introduced to combining and separating objects.  Then children will be given animal counters (animals found on a farm), and told an addition and subtraction story, and attempt to find the answer.

 

Tuesday:

*Children will cut out pictures of animals found on a farm and the names of the animals.  They will then match the beginning sound and letter of the word and picture of the animal.  All of the beginning letters are AlphaFriends that we have been working on. 

*Children will have the opportunity to watercolor paint a pig.

 

Wednesday:

*Children will do a sinking and floating experiment.  They will be given a variety of objects and asked to determine if the object will sink or float.  They will then place the object in a container of water to find the answer!

 

Thursday:

NO SCHOOL

 

Friday:

NO SCHOOL

 

*Our Big Book this week is "My Farm."

In the sensory table this week we have "Water, fish and fishing nets."

Dramatic Play this week is "The Grocery Store."
