Your task is to work in teams to gather and apply knowledge about fractions by
using the websites on this webquest. Then you will come up with a way to
teach the aliens about fractions.
You will practice and learn about:
finding fractions of a set and a whole
mixed numbers
comparing and ordering fractions
finding equivalent fractions
You will each review fractions of a set and a whole, then as a team you will
need to come up with a way to teach equivalence, mixed numbers, and comparing
fractions through a format of your choice. Possibilities include:
*Make a Powerpoint presentation.
*Write and illustrate a picture book.
*Find and cook a recipe that uses fractions.
*Make an annotated collage of ways fractions are used in the world. The
collage can include pictures from magazines, etc., but should also include
pictures you took yourself.
*Create a game that others can play to practice fraction skills.
