Standard 3
3.1 Explore and develop understanding of how to gather information from a 
variety of electronic sources, including teacher selected web sites, cd rom 
encyclopedias, and automated card catalog.

Science Inquiry Strand 
Standard 1: Observe and describe objects and events, identifying details, 
similarities and differences.
Standard 2: Ask questions, both investigable and non-investigable, about 
objects and events observed. Suggest ideas about �how�, �why�, and �what 
would happen if?�
 

Life Science Strand
Standard 3: Recognize that plants and animals have life cycles, and that 
life cycles vary for different living things.
Standard 4:  Describe ways in which many plants and animals closely resemble 
their parents in observed appearance. 
Standard 5:Demonstrate understanding that organisms grow up to resemble 
their parents.
Standard 8: Identify the ways in which an organism�s habitat provides for 
its basic needs (plants require air, water, nutrients, and light; animals 
require food, water, air, and shelter).
