| First each detective will be put in a group of 3. Within the group, each person
will choose to research either an igneous, sedimentary, or metamorphic rock.
The detective will then pick a specific rock from that category. For example if
I choose to do an igeneous rock I might study basalt.
Each detective will first visit Link 1 on the Resources Page to learn
about rocks and the Rock Cycle. They will answer the questions on the worksheet
as they go through the site. This will give the detectives some background
information on rocks and how they came into being.
Next, the detectives will go the the the Link 2 and choose a rock to study.
Print out the worksheet needed to gather your facts.
Each detective will visit the sites provided to find the information for their
missing rock report.
Once they have finished gathering the information, they will meet with their
team members and decide how they would like to present the information they have
gathered.
