Top Text Title: Top Text: Research Guide Name Animal Where does the animal live? What adaptations does the animal have that help it to survive in its environment? For example, if your animal is a fish, it probably has fins that help it to swim. What does the animal eat? Does this animal have special adaptations that help it to find or catch its food? If it does, tell about those adaptations. How does the animal protect itself from other animals that might use it for food? Tell about any adaptations that help the animal protect itself from predators. Does this animal have any protective markings or coloring that help it to be protected against predators? Explain any special features of this animal that help it to move. Describe the animal's appearance. Does it have adaptations related to its appearance like sharp claws, special teeth, a special beak? Describe how the animal moves if this is an adaptation. Is it a fast runner? Can it change directions very quickly? Can this animal change its appearance to help protect itself? For example, can it change color or can it puff itself up to frighten or confuse predators? Does its coloring help it hide or make predators think that it is something else? Does your animal migrate? Where does it go? Is there anything special about its migration habits? Does your animal hibernate? How is it able to live during the time it is hibernating? How does your animal get food? Can it trap its prey? Is it able to hunt for food? Do adaptations help it to find and get its food? What else is special about your animal?
