BEFORE- WEEK OF OCTOBER 25-29 a. Study Greek philosophers especially life of Socrates, Plato and Aristotle b. capital punishment c. freedom of speech, freedom of religion MONDAY NOV. 1 a. Individual rules- intro to pros and cons and sides given b. Intro to research and research begins- WORKSHEET work on answering questions and finding sources TUESDAY NOV. 2 a. Research; citing sources - work on worksheet b. Watch Clarkson Channel on You Tube...argumentative statement c.Worksheet WEDNESDAY NOV. 3 a. Finish research and worksheet and must have 3 citations b. Choose roles sides- Socrates deserved to die, Socrates did not deserve to die- the pros and cons of capital punishment- which side will you be on c. Talk about all possible scenarios and given steps of this mini-debate THURSDAY NOV. 4 a. Talk again about steps to debate and grading b. Practice positions/ mini-debate c. Make sure team has information organized- proper dress for debates d. Finish research and worksheet and must have 3 citations FRIDAY NOV. 5 MINI- DEBATE TODAY AND POSSIBLY MONDAY WORKSHEET TURNED IN TODAY
