Process

Big Idea:
Reading literature from various time periods and
cultures builds an understanding of the many aspects of human
experience.

Step 1

Now that you have been placed in groups of 4, decide who will be
which "Expert". If there are only 3 people in your group, you may want to
skip one of the "Expert" roles. Record this information in your marble
notebook.

Step 2

Each expert will research his/her area of expertise and take notes for at
least three different characters. Notes should include a visual description
and/or drawing, personal qualities, and adventures. These notes must be
recorded in your marble notebook. You will have 5 days to research your
specific area of expertise. If you finish early and all guiding questions
are completely answered, you should research additional characters.

Step 3

After completing the research, meet as a group to compare research notes.

Step 4

Brainstorm your game ideas. Have one team member be the "idea secretary"
and record your ideas in they marble notebook.

Step 5

Choose an idea from your brainstorming session.
Step 6

Design a game based on the chosen idea. The game should be fun, creative
and educational for all players.

Step 7

Create a prototype game to share with fellow students and gain feedback.
Make sure you divide the work up: 2 team members might create the game board
and 2 team members might write the directions for the game and the feedback
survery. Make sure you have all items that are needed to play your game
like game pieces, dice, etc.

Step 8

Present your game idea and prototype game to the class and obtain written
feedback on your survey.

Step 9

Finalize the game, considering the feedback.

Step 10

Make your pitch to the executives! Good luck!
