Now that you understand your mission on this webquest, let's rock...
STEP 1- You will be assigned to one of four roles. The "Igneous
Investigators" will learn about igneous rocks. The "Sedimentary Sleuths"
will discover information about sedimentary rocks. The "Metamorphic
Masters" will study metamorphic rocks. And the "Rock Cycle Reporters" will
research the processes involved in the rock cycle.
STEP 2- Go to your specific role page for further instructions and websites
for you to explore. Use the information you find on the given web pages to
complete the research sheets provided.
STEP 3- Once everyone has completed their research sheets, you will join up
with the other members of the class who have the same role as you do. As a
group you will compile all of your data together and use it to plan a Power
Point slide show presentation.
STEP 4- As a group, use your research to create a Power Point presentation
made up of a minimum of 5 slides. The slides should present your rock
information using both words and pictures. You will find specific details
and requirements under the individual role pages.
STEP 5- Create a mini "quiz" of 3-5 review questions based upon the
information in your presentation and put them onto your final slide.
STEP 6- Present your slide show to the class.
