Attention Parents:
Petersburg Elementary School has a schoolwide Title I program. All students
that attend PES are Title I students. This program provides funding that
purchases classroom materials, supplies, books, and technology. It also
provides necessary professional development for classroom teachers. In
addition to all these services, it pays the salary of our literacy coach,
Technology Integration Specialist (TIS), and Title I teachers.
Title I funding is based upon the second school month’s free and reduced
lunch count. As a result of low enrollment in this program last year, PES
lost significant funding. Due to this, we need your help. We are asking that
ALL PARENTS, whether you feel you qualify or not, complete and return the
FREE AND REDUCED LUNCH FORM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. If you are certain that you
do not qualify, we ask that you simply mark N/A on the form and sign under
section five. We need the forms to be completed and returned no later than
October 10, 2009. These forms should have been received before school
started. However, an additional form is attached in case the first was
misplaced. Please complete this lunch form and return it to school with your
child. If you need help completing the form, you may contact Bev Whetstone,
Michele Webster or Amber Mongold.
We will also be having a picnic to assist parents who have questions or
concerns when completing the form. If you would like to attend the picnic,
please contact a Title I teacher for more information.
