A fun and easy collaborative project that
your classroom and even your whole school can participate in, is with
Traveling Buddies. Traveling Buddies are stuffed animals that are mailed to
participating schools. While this animal is visiting that school, the host
school for the project and the participating school communicate between each
other. This article will give you ideas on what kind of travel buddy you could
use to represent your school, activities that you can do with participating
schools, how to post your announcement for this project, a suggested
itinerary, and ways that you can creatively share information.

Eye Monster Project

A student draws an original monster and then communicates that drawing into words using the writing process and the writing skills taught by the teacher.
The student from a cooperating school (many times another country) receives the description and uses reading comprehension skills to try to redraw the original monster. The real trick is that the redrawn is done only from reading the description!
