Homework is a valuable tool to reinforce classroom learning. It can strengthen the ties between home and school, and provide opportunities for students to develop time management and organizational skills. STUDENTS are responsible for completing daily homework assignments. I expect all assignments to be turned in on time. Please encourage your child to be responsible when it comes to homework. Students should spend about 30 to 40 minutes on homework, not including daily reading time. If it takes your child much longer than this, we might need to look at the time management and organizational skills they are using in class. Students will be given a weekly Home Reading Log in which they are to record their nightly reading. Each week's time should total up to no less than 100 minutes. These are due on Monday morning and should reflect the previous week's reading. Home Reading Logs are very important and should be turned in complete and on time each Monday. Reading logs will be accepted no later than Tuesday morning. Homework will be assigned three nights a week. Again, this does not include DAILY reading. Occasionally special projects or assignments may be also assigned. Students that turn 100% of their homework ON TIME will become members of the 100% Homework Club. Click to learn more. Homework Schedule: Monday: Spelling practice; read Tuesday: Math practice; read Wednesday: Read Thursday: Reading Comprehension Friday: Read Back to Parents Corner!
