Performance: Students will negotiate a free day to do something together using two different planners filled with activities.

Informal:  Students will be able to understand the days of the week, and be able to say his/her birthday.

Performance: Students will write a journal entry about one of their friends.

Informal: Students will be able to describe themselves with two adjectives. Students will be able to say two sentences to describe someone they know.

Family

Formal: Listening and written quiz

Performance: Family album project.

Students will write a journal entry about their family or an imaginary family.

Leçon 12

Weather

Formal: Listening and written quiz

Performance: Students will create a weather report in groups of three for a real or fictitious city.

Students will write a journal entry, reporting on the weather for a newspaper.

Informal: Students will be able to describe the weather in Arizona during different seasons.

Leçon 9

Food

Formal: Listening and written quiz

Performance: Students will write a journal entry stating their favorite foods, and what they like to eat for various special occasions.

While using a list, students will be able to describe what foods are normally sold in the cafeteria, and what foods they would like to see offered instead.

Leçon 10

Drinks

Formal: Listening and written quiz

Informal: Students will be able to say what they like to drink when it’s hot out and when it’s cold.

Leçon 11

Money/ordering

In a café

Formal: Listening and written quiz

Performance: Students will order food and drinks from a waiter in a ‘café’.

Informal: students will be able to state what money is used in France and how it relates to the dollar.

Leçon 4

Time

Formal: Listening and written quiz

Informal: Students will be able to say what time they go to school and what time they get home.
