    Seems that after Absolutism there would inevitably be revolutions! 
    Scientific, French, American and on and on...

    What does that say for Reformation, exploration and Absolutism? 

    To me, it says that it sure followed a logical sense of order in man's development. Obviously man changed that which did not work, or was unfair or did not work for the times.

    Revolution, the word fits well for extreme change. 

    How did the Revolutions that took place following Absolutism bring about Enligtenment? (age of reasoning, openess and individual thinking and creating)

    When we consider the system of Absolutism (Kings and Queens with absolute power based on Divine Authority) I wonder about a system of nationalism (pride for your country). Today England and a few others still have a Constitutional Monarchy. England has a Queen that is only given a position of historical significance. 

    She has no real power. She has teas, gives speeches, does charity and yet she is the richest woman in the world. She has several homes (castles) and paintings, sculptures, and horses (all which are 1 of a kind, rare and or priceless!)

     She has a life already, a life of a Queen!! She is paid by the taxpayers as is her family members. She is the Queen. A woman who is from the line stemming from William the Conqueror. 

    Does this system have any merit (importance) in governing? Does this system have a purpose that can not be filled with someone rich who can do charity or give good speeches? Why did the Colonist want to separate from the system of Monarchs? 

    I personally think Monarchs were part of our path to Democracy!

    Absolute power was only successful with the concept of "Divine Authority" (Power granted by God) ; Nationalism (Pride in their country) and Fear (fear of the religious persecution and fear of the power of the monarchy).
     
    The strength of the Monarcy meant a weakening of the Catholic Church. The weakening of the Monarchy during the Renassiance (cultural period of men being allowed to think for themselves and express their emotional and political views without retribution from the government). The church was instrumental in allowing the renaissance movement to interfere with those monarchs that dissed them.
     
    Is this hypocritical of the Church to use the very thing they burned people they deemed heretics for? Or their keeping people from reading the bible, challenging their teachings, and using fear to obey?
     
    Manipulation for the good of the church was the reason for their success even in bad times.
     
    How has the church fared today as it is up against science and technology to maintain or gain followers?

    Reformation - Change in Religious thinking and duty as it is connected to governing nations.

    Is Reformation possible in modern times? Is it a period piece or historical moment like the Industrial Revolution?

    If we had to start over in this world due to a complete collapse of our economies or warfare or mother nature, do you think Religion would play the same significant influence as it did during ancient times, medieval times and on into the 19th century?

    I believe that historical movements, change and advances are only successful if the human spirit has faith in something, whatever that be. It seems reasonable to assume that religion
    and science both are necessary in rebuilding our modern world.
