     Analyzing an Image
    When you analyze something you break the subject down into various parts and you explain them. The goal is to come to a deeper understanding of the subject.  Practice your analyzing skills with the image from The New Yorker magazine I have linked below.  Use the cognitive strategies and the responses of your peers to come to try to understand what it means.

    2) Write a response to the image.  You may use the following cognitive strategies to respond:

    Make Connections

    This is similar to...
    I can relate to that because...
    Make interpretations
    The artist might be trying to say.

    My opinion is...
    Ask Questions
    I wonder why...
    Does this mean...?
