You guys worked hard translating the algebraic language into workable symbols.

Always remember that "is" means =

Addition terms: sum of, more than, increased by, and
Multiplication terms: product of, times, of

Subtraction & Division are a little trickier, since they don't follow the Commutative Properties. Order matters!
Subtraction: difference, decreased, less than, minus
Division: quotient of, divided

Problem of the Day (POD):
A couple is planning their wedding day. The bride wants to serve vintage champagne to their guests.  A bottle of champagne costs ten dollars. The champagne in the bottle is worth nine dollars more than the bottle itself.  How much is the bottle worth?

Add your answer and your work to the bottom of tonight's homework for three extra credit points.  Please do not answer the POD in the comments section of the blog.

Don't put an equals sign because you are just writing a variable expression. Yes, please put the inches after the expression.

I also was wondering if for the title page, we were allowed to decorate it on the computer and what exactly did we have to put. Also, are we allowed to use wordart?

    Hi Ali,
Number 4 on your portfolio project pertains to the sequences that you calculated for number 3. Remember to answer in full sentences, please.

You have a Portfolio Project Guidelines sheet in the handout section of your binder, and there is a copy of that handout on this website under "Algebra I Portfolio Projects".

You may be creative with your title page, as long as it also includes the minimum requirements.
