I just wanted to update you on information and events for the New Year! Naps are over... your child brought home their mat before break. It does not need to come back to school. We are now spending nap time making up work, centers, and assessment time.

We are going to be in a play on Feb. 24th! Please read notices sent home next week for more information.

    I hope everyone has a great 2009!

Our trip to the Environmental Learning Center was fun! We went on a scavenger hunt for Gumbo Limbo trees and saw an otter in the river. We enjoyed our nature walk and the lesson about plants. A huge thanks to the parents that came out to help me! Check out the photos page for pictures of our very first trip!

Please check out the kindergarten in Photos page to see pictures of our science project. We wanted to see how strong an egg is. We found out that an egg shell can hold 96 books or 30 pounds on the arch of the shell! We learned that an egg has to be strong to survive being dropped to the ground after a hen lays it, but it also has to be weak so a chick and peck it's way out!

Thank you for coming to writing night! I know that we gave you a lot of information. If you have questions or need help preparing your child for Show and Explain, please let me know! The first few weeks are rough but once the kids get used to the format it starts to go more smoothly.

Amelia and I had a wonderful time at the park! This was Amelia's first trip to that park and I didn't realize how sandy she would be! You must have buckets of sand come home in shoes from recess! It was great to be able to spend "FUN" time with the kids outside of Rosewood. We have a few upcoming events. Please read the Announcements page.

Thank you for coming to Open House! We had a great turn out. Please let me know if you have any questions about the information I gave you. Two parents from our class are hosting a play date on Saturday, September 20th at Charles Park at 10:30am for Room 108. This is a great way for everyone to have fun and get to know each other outside of school.

WOW! What a crazy start to 2008-09! I am happy to say that everyone seems to have adjusted well today even if they didn't get to attend their staggered start day. We have enjoyed getting to know each other and learning the rules and routines of kindergarten. Have a wonderful weekend! See you on Monday!
