    First Day of Rehearsal for Small Actors

    Hello Players,
     
    Just wanted to take a second to share some thoughts with you about today.   I hope you noticed something.  For a play with only 7-8 speaking roles, that we have an enormous Cast and Crew.   That is because your auditions and willingness to work in the Crew made it very difficult to say no.  I am so blessed to have so many talented 6th graders, thankful to our returning 7th graders, and amazed at how much the 8th graders have grown since we first met over two years ago.  Unbelievable. 
     
    I am really looking to my 8th graders for leadership this year and to set the performance bar high!  I hope they get more out this year than I every will.  They will look back on it fondly with a lot of great memories and friends.

    Awesome Bake Sale!!!

    Hello Cast, Crew and Parents...

    Once again...an amazing job.   We sold $798.05 worth of baked goods this morning!!!  Absolutely
    incredible job, folks.   Thanks to everyone who donated their time (many were there for every
    mass)and their baked goods to make this the best bake sale we have every had beating last
    season.  The donation of the goodies and everyone's time and effort was overwhelming and
    wonderful to see.  I also want to mention that we had a banner day in ticket sales selling over
    $300 worth of tickets at the 9am mass.

    I want to make sure that I mention a few folks that were central in making this a success.   Ms.
    Main, our Parent Volunteer, ensured that everyone was communicated with and took over after I
    had to leave - thank you.   Mr. Arcario for his generous donation of our pies, cheesecakes and
    all the other awesome items - thank you.  Dr. Kurowski stayed for many masses and even
    volunteered to stay for the Spanish mass selling more product and more tickets - thank you.   I
    could not have been more proud of my Cast and Crew and the amazing support you parents show them
    and our program.  A thousand thank yous!!

    All the left over product, and there isn't much, will be sold on Tuesday at school.  Sister gave
    us her blessing and congratulated us on a great bake sale.  This money will be put to very good
    use.   I will be looking for volunteers to help during recess and lunch.  Other product will use
    sold during the shows at the concession stand.

    Are busy week starts tomorrow - Get a good night sleep tonight!

    Tuesday Night in the Gym

    Hey Cast!

    Just want to say thank you for the better rehearsal last night. We were able to get through some things and work out the newness of the stage and the blocking on it. Please continue to maintain high levels of maturity and professionalism as we get closer to Opening Night, things will get stressful and more hectic. Your cooperation will make these last two weeks smooth and successful.

    Reminders:
    • Ads are due on 4/10
    • Bake Sale, Sunday, April 20th - volunteering is mandatory. We will be serving after the 7:30, 9 and 10:30 masses. We also ask you to bring a home made item to sell. Last year we made almost $800 in one morning.
    • Saturday, April 19th mandator rehearsal, 1-5 p.m.

    I just wanted to thank you for a great rehearsal today.  Tomorrow, after our Crew meeting, we will actually block the rest of the show!!!

    Just wanted to drop you a quick note to say that even though it has only been since last Thursday since we had rehearsal...I miss you guys.

    Want to hear all about your break when we see each other on Saturday, March 29th from 1 to 5 in the gym.

    Have a Great Spring Break!!!

    Hello Cast and Crew!

    Well, I just wanted to wish you all a wonderful spring break and to remind you about continuing to rehearse and practice on your own during your time off.   When we return, all Cast and Crew will be off book for lines and music.

    REMINDER:   We will be having practice on Saturday, March 29th at 1 pm.   I am planning to have the costume folks there to help us find costumes for this show.  You should plan on being there.   If you CANNOT make it, please let me 
    know and we will make other arrangements to find you a costume when the costumers have the time.  

    CREW:   Once we get full time access to our stage and the sets start coming in, we will be having major painting rehearsals.  Thank you for your time and your patience.

    Well, to err is human...

    Hello Team,

    I just wanted to let you know that, thanks to Marcella, I discovered an error in my calendar and for some reason I missed TWO WEEKS  of rehearsals!!!!  So, the outlook is not as bad as I believed in regards to our schedule.   This is very good news; HOWEVER, that does not mean we can slack off and continue the lack of productive time that we seem to be inflicted with lately.  

    This is going to be a fabulous show and I have already told many of your parents -- "you will not believe what your kid did today!  They are going to blow you away."   As you always do...

    Hey, btw...feel free to comment on any of these blog entries.  I am interested in your thoughts!

    Ms. Tracy and I were very impressed with the hard work everyone put in on Saturday.   That was a lot of dancing!   But...it looked great.  Please keep up the practicing at home so we can keep ahead of the game.  Remember - you are all off book for lines and music the Monday after Spring Break!
