I think that the letters are a bit more...cordial than they usually would be because they were talking about a sensitive subject.
What do you think Miep does when she is at home?
The "outer Anne" is a more childish person by other people's(except Peter)standerds and is always asked questions about what they are doing and are you sick blah, blah, blah. But Anne says that her real self is much more mature than other girls her age. But how does she know how other girls are? The last time she saw someone outside the Annexe was over 2 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS:That's a long time.
I think that the letters... are now a little more intense. In their first letters they were talking about happy things. But now... they talk about bad stuff, like war. I think the "outer Anne" (refering to Alex G.) is childish. She kept asking people are you sick are you we- you get the point. She says that the real her is more mature than other girls.
Q why is miep helping the Franks??
The Anne we see through her diary is very thoughtful, truthful, and tells everything that she is feeling inside (she doesn't hide anything. The "outer Anne" is almost the exact opposite. The "outer Anne" barely shows any of her thoughts or feelings, and seems less grown up than the Anne we see through her diary. I think the letters between Anne and Margot help them trust and tell the truth to each other (get closer as sisters). The letters also let them speak their mind and show how they're feeling to one another.
Anne and Margot's letters to each other discuss mainly Peter, and how Anne likes him but Margot doesn't. Anne discusses how although Margot doesn't love Peter, she has a sort of "sisterly affection" for him. Margot agrees, although she says she doesn't need Anne to feel sorry for her.
Why is Anne so crazy for Peter now, when in 1942 she thought he was an (and I quote) "a rather soft, shy, gawky youth; can't expect much from his company..."?
I feel that these (the require pages) are mainly about the relationships of those in the annex. Especially when Anne and Margot send letters. This shows how Anne talks to Margot about Anna and Margot's relationships and Peter and Anne's relationship.
I have a question... Ms. Ault said that they could only could talk during lunch time but Anne and Peter seem to talk all through out the day. Also, Peter tells Anne to knock on the trap door but won't the noise of knocking- wouldn't they get in trouble?
Q: Discuss the letters between Anne and Margot. The letters between Anne and Margot seem interesting. I find these letters interesting because they talk about how Margot is longing to have someone to discuss her thoughts and feelings with and that she wasn't really wanting having Peter in that role. Which is funny because Anne thought that Margot loved Peter and Anne didn't want to hurt Margot's feelings because she was talking to Peter so much. Also I think these letters are showing a start of bonding between Margot and Anne that they didn't really have before.
Will Margot and Anne have a fight about Peter, because Margot said that she thought that she didn't think of Peter of having the role of a person who Margot can express her thoughts and fellings to yet.
I think that the "outer Anne" is happy, cheerful, and sometimes troublesome [as the grown-ups would think]. The "inner" Anne is very serious and thoughtful. To me, Anne seems like a completely different person in her diary than she is on the outside.
