Yes,we should pay for paper or plastic. Because it will encourage shoppers to use reusable bags. one grocery store uses thousands of bags a week.Paying will help our low economy because thousands of people work at grocery stores and a cashier from Wis,Says its better for the environment and small changes today big results tomorrow! This is why you should pay for paper or plastic bags at grocery stores Alex from Maine,

I don't think people should have to pay for paper and plastic because not everyone can afford it. Even if it was only 20 cents it would still add up. Officials say it all started in Seattle wash. when they were requiring shoppers to pay 20 cents for every bag they bought. Plus bags can be used over and over again. People can use bags for so many things. It is unfair to charge people for paper and plastic especially when money is tight. That's why I think people should not have to pay for paper and plastic. Adam Raso says. That's why I agree with Adam Raso.

Should people have to pay for paper or plastic bags? People from Seattle Washington have to pay 20 cents per bag! A kid from Weekly Reader news says,''It is more money than people plan to spend!'' Say you have 20 bags 15 bags would cost $3.00 twenty bags would cost $4.00! people should not have to pay for paper & plastic BAGS!!!

NO,i do not think people should have to pay to use paper or plastic bags at the grocery store.I agree with Adam that paying for bags is a bad idea because 20 cents can add up to a lot of money and some people can not afford it.If I had to pay for paper or plastic bags I would have to go somewhere else to buy food. Those bags can be reused for other things like lining trash cans. When you go to the grocery store and all your groceries fit into 20 bags, that's a lot of money to pay and that's not even counting your actual groceries.Between all the money you spend on gas and oil for your house the last thing you need is to pay for bags. You shouldn't have to pay for bags!

Yes! Paying for groceries will save the earth! That will save the earth by not getting plastic or paper bags, so people wont make paper or plastic groceries so much. Also, an average store may use thousands of bags a week! So I say it is a very good idea to make people pay for plastic and paper bags from stores.

Officials in Seattle Washington are having people pay for paper or plastic bags at the super markets.I think you should have to pay $0.20 because you are helping the environment. You should get reusable bags that do not have to be thrown out. That's what I think about the bag battle.

Yes, I agree with Linsay Gleason from Wisconsin to pay 20 cents for a bag.You can reuse the bags in stead of buying the bags over and over again you are not wasting paper or putting more plastic in landfills, said Linsay Gleason.

Yes I think people should pay for paper and plastic bags. Because it will help the world a lot. People will buy bags that can be reused. In Seattle Washington they made a law that you have to pay 20 cents a bag I think that great because it would make people recycle a lot more.I deffently take Lindsay Gleasons side

I think you shouldn't pay for paper bags because paying for groceries is enough. But paying for bags. 20 cents for a bag every week that would be 41 dollars a year! If you go once a week every week. I agree with Adam Raso because you can reuse them for a trash can. I have 6 bags that we just keep reusing over and over again.Nobody should pay for extra fees.

I think with Linday Gleason is right about the bag battle not have to pay $.20 more for plastic bags. Some people put bags on the side of the road. Its bad for earth and animals.Thats why you should use green bags.

No,I think people should not have to pay for paper and plastic bags. The way the economy is that is way to much money for people to spend a year,20 cents a bag.Who would want to spend that much time for people to get bags for them selves.Says Adam Raso from llinois.

Is plastic bags bad for the environment?
"Yes it is because it hurts the in environment."
"Said Becca Jaeger."People in Seattle pay 20 cents for every plastic or paper bags. say that I have 15 bags, that would be $300.But if you buy it for 10 cents that would be $1.50.And that saves more money and more trees!

No,not every body can afford the extra fees and paying fore the paper and plastic would mean spending more then you expected and besides they could be used for trash bag liners says Adam Raso from Illinois so pick no because not every can afford the extra fees.

I don't think people should have to pay for paper or plastic. Not everybody can afford it.In some stores people have already started it.Even if it is 20 cents that is a lot in year because my mom goes to the grocery store one time a week and some times she does not bring them.My grandfather goes everyday and he doesn't bring them.He just throws the bags away.KEEP THEM!!

Hey hear what two people think about the Bag Battle.Lindsay Gleason of Wisconsin thinks that people should pay for plastic and paper bags because you can reuse bags and its better for the environment.Adam Raso of lllinois says people shouldn't pay for paper or plastic bags because adding the bags can be used over again.Even 20 cents per bag can add up for many people. And which means paying more than planned.I agree with Lindsay Gleason of Wisconsin she makes a point because our earth might fall apart.Every body should help the earth and help keep it clean!!

Witch side are you on?Should there be a 20 cent tax on paper an plastic bags?In my opinion, yes. I agree with Linsay Gleason, and Becca Jaeger, 20 cents will make people remember to help out the earth. One thing about plastic bags is they can't be used very many times. A question, what are people most likely to do after they've reused their plastic bags? Throw them away! And that that doesn't help even if they have been reused. If you are going to be using the plastic bags for trash bags, you can spend 20 cent s on them like you do for trash bags. As for the paper bags, it's never good to waste trees since we need them so much. The point is, it's bad to pollute, and if a small fee would help people remember not to, that just has to be the best thing.
