I think a great book to read over Christmas break would be 'Artemis Fowl: Time Paradox'. It is a very interesting book in which Artemis Fowl must travel back in time to save his mothers life.

I think you should read the book (soul eater) because it is a fast paced story with a lot of action. And if you like mystery thrillers this book is for you. It is about a kid named torak that loses his pack brother wolf, so Torak goes out after the soul eaters to find Wolf. But while he was on his rescue he almost became a soul eater because he killed a hunter which is against clan law. In the end torak escapes from the soul eaters and gets wolf back.

I would recommend Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. It is a great book. Harry finds out he is a wizard and is going to Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Harry soon figures out that, from Hagrid (the gamekeeper) that something is being hidden at Hogwarts. They find out, from Hagrid again, that its true owner is Nicholas Flamel. He is 613 years old. The thing is Harry and his friends, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger, think someone is trying to steal the Stone. They think it is Severus Snape, the Potions master.

I think you might want to try one of the "Warrior"books. The Warrior books are about wild cats that live in groups called clans. There is adventure and prophecies making them kind of mysterious.

I recommend the book "The Best Christmas Pagent Ever". The book is about a couple of brothers and sisters that fight a lot and they decide to enter in a play. When they do practice for the play they don't want to be there so you know what they do, they just fight. So will they drop out or stay in what they believe in.

I would recommend (Agnes Parker... Keeping Cool in Middle School). I say that because this was a really great book, I read it for the fiction books we did for the letter. It was about a girl named Agnes she has a best friend named Prejean. All of the seventh grade girls were being picked on! Then one of them stand up for themselves! Then finally they stop getting bullied. But Agnes meets a guy named Aram and they become friends through art class. Then one day she talks to him and oops! She said some of the wrong things! Then Aram avoids her. Will they ever become friends again? Find out and read this book! It's awesome!

Another great book to read is 'Pendragon:The Merchant of Death'. It is the first book in the Pendragon series. The series is about a 12 year old boy named Bobby Pendragon. He learns that he is destined to be a Traveler (one person from each territory/planet who must save the territory). It is a very captivating book and a great read.

Eoin Colfer has created yet another eerie and captivating world of fantasy creatures in this book, 'The Supernaturalist' , where Cosmo Hill, enters the world unwanted by his parents. He is sent to Clarissa Frayne Institute for Parentally Challenged Boys where the occupants test new products for the futuristic Satellite City. But when he tries to break out of Clarissa Frayne, he very nearly dies. He is found by a group of unknown heroes who have a special skill of seeing creatures that they believe suck the life force out of wounded or sick people. What he soon finds out is that when he was nearly killed, he somehow gained the skill and joins the group. This book is amazing and describes detail like you are actually in the book.

The first book in the Ranger's Apprentice series is called the 'Ruins of Gorlan' by John Flanagan. It is about an orphaned boy in a fantasy medivil world named Will. His future is not looking good when none of the craft masters accept him as their apprentice. But unknown by him, the Baron and Cheif Ranger have been watching him closely and the Ranger accepts him as his apprentice. He is dissapointed because he has always heard that the Rangers practice invisibe magic and he is also dissapointed that he did not get accepted into battleschool, but as he soon learns, the Rangers are the real protectors of the kingdom. They are highly skilled in the ways of battle and surveillance and fight the battles before they reach the kingdom. Unfortunately, he does not have much time to train before he learns that Morgorath, Lord of the Mountains of Rain and Night, is assembling his forces for an attack on the kingdom. Maybe this time, he will not be denied....

Not many books can compare to this one, 'Ranger's Apprentice Book Two:The Burning Bridge'. For years, the Kingdom of Araluen has prospered and felt secure, with Lord Morgarath behind the impassable mountains. They wonder if Morgorath has discovered a way of transporting his army over the supposedly insurmountable pass when Will and Horace, a knight apprentice, go on a special mission to a neighboring village and discover that it's entire people have been either captured or slain. When a passing patrol confirms their fears, they must travel back to Araluen before it is crushed in a fierce ambush. This book was on of my favorites and I think if you read it to find out if Will and Horace make it in time, it will be one of yours too.
