The injury to Tom Brady's leg was a torn and stretched ligament. Ligaments attach bones to bones and you have four of them in your knee. Tom Brady tore one of the out side ones and stretched one of his inside ones. Tom Brady was having truble with his rehab he had an infection and he had some off days. He went through a lot of sugery but he should be able to play next year.
Tom Brady suffered a torn ACL in his left knee when he was hit by Bernard Pollard. The ACL is really the anterior cruciate ligament. It is one of the four ligaments that are part of the knee joint. The function of the ACL is to provide stability to the knee and lessen stress across the knee joint. It controls extreme forward movement of the tibia to the femur. It also limits the knee's rotational movements. Often, depending on a person's activity level, a torn ACL needs to be fixed. In fact doctors don't talk about ACL "repair" but instead about ACL "reconstruction." This is because a torn ACL cannot be repaired by sewing it together again. This was the method tried in the early days of repairing ACL tears, but it was shown to not work. So, newer methods were developed which involve remaking the ACL ligament, including substituting a new ligament for the damaged one. Using tendons from other parts of the body as a substitute for the ACL was found to be the most effective way of reconstructing the torn ACL. Currently, the two most popular methods in use are using part of the patella tendon or using a hamstring muscle tendon. Supervised rehabilitation usually involves following an ACL protocol agreed upon by the surgeon and physical therapist/athletic trainer.
Tom Brady's famous injury occured in the first game of the 2008 season when he was tackled and tore his ACL as well as MCL. The Anterior Cruciate Ligament is the most important of the four strong ligaments connecting the bone to the knee joint. The MCL or Medial collateral ligament is also one of the four critical ligaments for stability of the knee joint. He had surgery to reconstruct both ligaments then he went through rehab which normally takes 6-9 months.
Tom Brady's famous knee injury was a torn ACL(Anterior Cruciate Ligament). It happened in the first game of the 2008 NFL season. Tom Brady was hit from the side which made a sudden twisting motion of the knee, this overstretched the ligament within the knee which tore his ACL. The function of the ACL is to provide stability to the knee and minimize stress across the knee joint. The knee was repaired by surgery to reconstruct his ACl. He then went into a 6-9 week rehab to get his knee back to normal. He says he will be ready to play in the 2009 NFL season and can’t wait!
In the Patriots first game of the 2008 season Tom Brady was hit and injured. He tore both his ACL(anterior cruciate ligament) and his MCL(medial collateral ligament). The ACL and MCL are ligaments in the knee that are crucial to stability. The ACL attaches the femur to the tibia. The ligament prevents the tibia from sliding to far forward. The injury results in a much less stable knee. To treat a torn ACL reconstructive surgery is a common option. In the surgery a graft is put in place of the torn ACL. After reconstruction months of rehabilitation is necessary. Rehabilitation includes exercises progressing as the knee becomes back to normal strength. Rehabilitation usually takes around six months after surgery.
Tom Brady, famous football team quarterback, torn anterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments in his left knee. ACL is the most commonly injured knee ligament. He will have to attend rehab for approximately 6-9 months. He will also have surgery that will repair his left knee injury.
The patriots quarterback Tom Brady torn his Anterior cruciate and Medial collateral ligaments in his knee. A anterior cruciate is one of the most important of four strong ligament connecting the bone to the knee joint. A ligament is what connects bones to bones across joints. Tom Brady has a medical test on his knee, MRI but indicated no damage to other ligament, and no torn cartilage. Tom Brady will face about 6-9 months of recovery.
Tom Brady was hit on the outer side of his left knee leaving damage to his MCL (medial collateral ligament) and to his ACL ( Anterior cruciate ligament). The ACL is a ligament the helps stabilize the knee. It also Minimizes stress across the knee joint. Tom Brady tore this ligament. The MCL is another ligament that helps stabilize the knee. Tom Brady went into surgery on October, 6th to repair these ligaments. After his surgery he developed an infection because of the build up of scar tissue. The ligaments still remain loose which could result in having to have another surgery. Tom Brady says that his rehab is going well. Tom Brady meets with his coaching staff on a daily basis to revile stiffness. Tom Brady is doing well with this.
Hey Mr.O I found out what kind of injury Tom Brady had. Tom Brady Tore his ACL and his MCL, ouch! The way Brady tore it was when he was hit by Bernrd Pollard hit him at the knee and when he through the ball his knees buckled. Brady's rehab is a little behind but he been working on throughing the ball and running. Well thhts all the information I could find.
Thanks Folks! O'B
Tom Brady's injury was called an ACL tear in his knee which was caused when the other team piled on top of him when he landed on his knee during that game. His knee was repaired mostly by rest and time because it took 6 to 10 weeks in bed to have the knee repair. If it was worse the knee would be in pieces all around his knee cap. His rehab was simply starting to move the knee back and forth for Tom to get used to bendin it again.
Tom Brady's knee injury was that he had a torn ACL and a MCL. The reason why he had to be out was because docters usually wait for the MCL (Medial Collaterial Ligament) and then fix the torn ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament). The damage was that he tore the ACL in his leg and also part of the MCL. The damage to that was that he couldn’t play football on it except that one day.
Tom Brady's injury was a torn ACL. The ACL connects the Tibia to the Fibia, a major bone in the shin. The damage to the knee was that the ACL was torn and his leg just failed. Some athletes have gotten a fully torn ACL and kept playing because their hamstrings are strong enough to keep them going. He had two surgeries to fix the knee. Then his knee got infected, and they did a surgery to clean out the infection. The usual time for rehab is about seven months but that depends on how bad the sprain is.
Tom Brady tore his ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) when he was hit from the side. Which made a sudden twisting motion of the knee. You tear your ACL by having a overstretched the ligament. The ACL provides stability to the knee and minimizes the stress across the knee joint. Tom Brady said that the rehab is going good. The knee was repaired by surgery to reconstruct his ACL.
Tom Brady tore his anterior cruciate ligament. his anterior cruciate ligament is fore reducing the stress in his leg. they are the four main stabilizing Tom Brady tore his anterior cruciate ligament. his knee was bent sideways and the acl extended and tore. they repaired his ACL by arthroscopic reconnection
Tom Brady's knee injury was that he had a torn ACL and a MCL. The reason why he had to be out was because the docters usually wait for the MCL and then fix the torn ACL . The damage was that he tore the ACL in his leg and also part of the MCL. The damage to that was that he couldn’t play football on it except that one day. this new season he can play and be our mighty quarter back again.
when brady ingered his nee he tore his acl and mcl so he had to have major sergery
tom brady tore his acl by over streaching the ligiment with caused it to tear. he had sergery so he can walk again and not limp all the time because the acl proveds stabilety and by tearing it it made him wobely
