When your heart is pounding it usually means that you have been running or exercising. It might happen after you have been scared or you are in a suspense situation. When your heart skips a beet or feels like it did it might mean that you had a sudden scare or a flash of sadness but most people say your heart skips a beet when you see your object of affection walk by or something like that. Your heart never actually skips a beet it just pound for a second and it feels like it did.
I read on Yahoo! Answers, that if you feel like your heart is pounding that it could mean that you were having a bad dream. OR more scientifically, you may have Sleep Apnea. This is when, when you sleep, your oxygen level drops. Because it drops that means that your heart will "pound," faster and harder, to get your oxygen level back up to the equilibrium again. That could be the cause for the "pounding heart."
The reason why your heart pounds is because you can sometimes be scared and also some people have anxiety. Anxiety causes people to worry about the littlest things about almost anything. Also, people can feel there heart pump if they have nerves about something or worried too.
Can your heart ever skip a beat? Yes it can it is called Atrial fibrillation or AF for short. AF is the most common irregular heart rhythm disorder in the United States, affecting about 2.2 million Americans. AF can be described as a abnormal heart beat, rapid or disorganized. AF can happen due to the upper heart muscle, like the blood mite not completely get out of the chambers.
it pounds harder because it needs more oxigen when your scared or exersizing or oter stuff
Premature Ventricular Contraction (PCV) is a very common, very harmless thing to happen to the heart. It is when the heartbeat is initiated by the heart ventricles, skipping a beat or making it not its normal beat/flow. In a normal heartbeat, ventricles contract after the atria have helped to fill them by contracting. The ventricles can pump a maximized amount of blood both to the body and to the lungs. But in a PCV ventricles contract first, which means that circulation is inefficient. This can happen to a person of any age, but is more frequent and common in elderly and is more commonly found in men. Some causes are smoking, stress, drinking, caffeine, lack of sleep, drugs, heart attacks and other serious illnesses.
My heart usually pounds when something scares me, when I'm nervous, and when I'm really excited about something. It also pounds after I run or do some sort of workout. This is because when you're working your muscles need to get more oxygen so your heart is pumping faster. Then when you stop your heart gradually slows down. That's one reason your heart may pound. Another reason for your heart to skip is when the valves of your heart don't close completely for the heart muscles to move blood into a different chamber. This causes a little blood to leak by which causes a change in your heartbeat.
Hey Mr. O, I found out that when a heart skips a beat it is caused by a premature ventricular contractions which are a type of slight clotting. I guess they are clots heart to make it skip a beat and you can feel this in your chest without putting your hand over your heart it is the strong and could hurt. This clotting could be a piece of debris from where the blood goes. People sometimes have this problem for months and sometimes it gets worse and could cause a heartburn which can easily be fixed with antibiotics but still can be bad!
Hey Mr.O I found out that when your heart skips a beat its called a min-stroke. when your heart skips a beat is usually goes back to normal. Another reason your heart can skip a beat is when you are feeling dizzy. The last reason your heart can skip a beat is because your working really hard like running around so your heart would be beating really fast and it may skip a beat.
Nice going kids! ;-) O'B
When your heart pounds its typically when im nervous, when somthing scares me , or when I just got finished doing some kind of excercising. Your heart pounds when you exercise because your muscles need oxygen and your heart is working harder to get it to them. Your heart also pounds pounds when its slowing itself down. Your heart also pounds when you are nervous or scared. This can also be called anxiety. Anxiety can cause palpitations, which are when you feel you heart racing. Your beat may be normal or abnormal when these occur, and they are usually not serious.
The feeling of your heart pounding or skipping a beat is commonly referred to as a heart palpitation. Palpitations can be triggered by exercise, stress, caffeine, medications, or a medical condition. Most times heart palpitations are scary, but harmless. Rarely palpitations are caused by arrhythmia or an irregular heartbeat. Palpitations can occur when valves in the heart malfunction and release prematurely. Other malfunctions in the heart can trigger palpitations.
When your heart pounds or skips a beat it can feel abnormal. I know When I stay underwater when I am swimming I can feel my heart pound. This sensation is called palpitations. Palpitations can be caused by fear, anxiety, stress, caffeine, thyroid pills, Low levels of oxygen in your blood, nicotine and heart disease. There are a few ways to prevent palpitations. You can just relax or you can stop smoking and many more things. Palpitations can be very uncomfortable. But just relax.
Sometimes your heart seems like its “skipping a beat” or pounding, that may happen because you’ve been scared, if your really stressed out, if you’ve had to much caffeine, alcohol or to much physical activity. Usually for people who have good health, heart pounding isn’t something to worry about and goes away after a few minutes.
Sometimes your heart can skip a beat by a sudden impact on your front or back. With enough force to knock the spasm of the heart into a different pattern or rhythm. There’s also certain health problems that occur atrial fibrillation is the most common irregular heart beat.
If your heart skips a beat, don't freak out. It really isn't that big of deal. PVC'S(premature ventricular contractions) is when your heart skips a beat and then resumes beating normally until a minute or so later, when it happens again. It feels like a big thump in your chest. They sometimes disappear for a few months and then come back. This isn’t a serious condition, doctors do give medication like Tinorman but it sometimes does not work. Also your heart pounds very hard after really any physical activity. This is because you heart is working hard to pump the oxygen rich blood to your muscles you are using. My heart also pounds when I get scared, frustrated or when I’m nervous.
