Most of you know that I love history.  I love reading Bible Events because they are the history of God’s people.  Over the years I have had many favorite Bible Events.  I am going to share one of my favorites from when I was five years old and why in some respects it remains a favorite today.

When I was five, I had a baby brother about six months old.  I loved the story of Baby Moses.  I used to pretend that I was Miriam putting Moses in my Mom’s woven laundry basket in the river (our sidewalk).  I then switched roles and was the beautiful princess who found him.  I usually used my doll, but one day I decided to put my baby brother in the basket.  My poor Mom almost had a heart attack when she realized I pulled him out of the crib, carried him downstairs and put him in the basket.

I loved that story because it was one I could relate, too.  As a big sister, I could understand how Miriam most have felt when she knew her baby brother was in danger.  Later as a Mom I could understand how very frightened Moses’ mom was.  But I could also see how very much God loved that family, and how he had a plan for Moses which could not be fulfilled if he was murdered with all the other baby boys at that time.

What is your favorite Bible Event?  Tell us a little bit a bout it.  Tell us why it is so special to you and how it relates to your life.

My favorite Bible story would have to be… that’s a toughie. I love so many Bible stories its hard to choose. I love the story of SAMSON AND THE LION. I like it because it shows us that God has so much power and he can do anything with it. I remember y dad reading it to me over and over again. It just took over me because of the power. I remember pretending I was Delilah, waiting for Samson to come and then watching him kill the lion with his bare hands. I would pretend to faint. Looking back on it now I feel so silly. One time, my sisters and I put on a full play on SAMSON AND THE LION. We all fought over the part of Delilah because my brother was going to be Samson no matter what. We eve included the part about the honey and the riddle at the wedding. It was a fun show. So that’s my favorite Bible story, SAMSON AND THE LION.

My favorite bible story is The Offering Of Isaac, from Genesis 21-22. The reason I love this story is because of how Isaacs father shows how much he loves God that he would sacrifice his own son. Then God said that since he was willing to sacrifice his son that he should not have to sacrifice his son. Afterwards they both sacrificed a ram that was caught in a bush.

My favorite Bible story is: “The Golden Calf”, because while the Israelites waited for Moses to come from the mountain, they built a golden calf out of gold and God had to make Moses turn down the mountain to go tell the Israelites to stop. And Moses told them he was going up to see the Lord. And the Lord made a covenant He would lead them to the Promised Land. And it amazed me that Moses was there for 40 days and nights, with no bread or water. While the Lord wrote the Ten Commandments. And Moses als0 had to wear a veil because his’ face shone so brightly.

My favorite bible story is “1 Samuel 25”, which is about David, Nabal, and Abigail. I like this bible story because…
∑ I love reading about kings, especially King David
∑ I also like stories with women as the heroine, like Ruth, Esther, and Jael, who killed Sisera

The reason I found this story was actually through a Bible Journal. I wasn’t sure which story to read, and Kaitlyn said she really enjoyed it. I sure did!
The story is about David on the run from Saul. When he heard Nabal was shearing sheep, David sent servants to ask him for some food, anything he could put together.
But Nabal threw insults at him instead. When Abigail, Nabal’s wife, heard, she sent 200 loaves of bread. God struck Nabal down, but he looked down on Abigail with favor. And Abigail became David’s second wife.

I like The Birth of Christ. Because that means Christmas and who doesn’t like Christmas! I like the songs they do for Christmas. I liked going to church a week before and not being able to wait ‘tell the next week. I like to see family I don’t see much on Christmas. So thanks to the bible I can do that stuff.

I like the book of Ruth because Ruth says to Naomi “where you go I will go. Where you stay I will stay. Your people shall be my people, and your God shall be my God. Where you die, I will die and that’s where I will be buried.”That’s important to me because Ruth really loves Naomi and will not leave Naomi.

My favorite Bible story is about "Sampson" and how he killed thousands of philistines. I like it because I like how God gave Sampson the strength to kill thousands of philistines with a jawbone of a donkey. He also brought down a coliceum.

I really like the story of ESTHER because it is about a girl who saves her people. The author makes me feel like I’m really there by using colorful words. My favorite part is when Esther invited the King to dinner and told him that Haman had tried to kill her family.

My favorite bible story is the story of Moses getting the laws on the stone tablets, because it really made me realize that God made the rules to protect us. It made me think that when my dad says no he is trying to protect us and is not being unfair. He is following God's rules.
