We had so much fun and learned so much at Camp in Indiana! Outdoor Ed is important because some of use just set around watching TV, chatting on the Internet, talking on phones, playing video games, or getting into trouble. This helps us find stuff to do outside. Also if we were lost or something in the woods we would die right then and now! We learned that we need to pay attention and help our environment. We also learned that we are all like a crystal in God’s eyes and we need to show our talents to shine for him!!!! I really liked learning about the frogs. I thought it was very cool and Isaac caught a frog! The thing I liked the most was free time. In it some friends gave me tips on learning basketball and we also went for walks and some on hikes. I like free time because we could get back together in groups and tell each other hat we learned! My least favorite activity was the last activity. It wasn’t because it was boring but because it was the last thing we’d do before we had to leave! That made me sad and I wish it were longer! We had a blast at Outdoor Ed and I can’t wait ‘tell next year! We learned to work in groups, we learned about nature, and we learned so much more!!
Outdoor Ed is important because it gave us a chance to learn how to use teamwork and some other fun activities outdoors. One of those activities is kayaking. Which is very hard to do unless you have very good balance. Another activity is hiking through the woods. My favorite activity was kayaking. That was my favorite because it is a challenge. I liked the challenging one because it isn’t too easy and they are faster than the canoes that we started to use before. Also when you are canoeing you use teamwork, but when you are kayaking you are by yourself. My least favorite was the wale. I didn’t like it because it was too hard to equal out the weight of every person in our group. I also didn’t like it because I was one of the three balancing it out and I would sometimes mess it up.
Outdoor Ed is important. One reason it’s important is you learn about nature and the environment. You learn how to do different things that are entertaining such as archery and canoeing. Predator and Prey teaches you about how real animas hunt in the wild. So does the turtle game.My favorite activity was archery. I liked it for a couple reasons; one is I have always wanted to do it and I am pretty good at it. Another reason is that I have read about archery in at least a dozen books. My least favorite activity was canoeing. I’m good at it, considering that it was the first time I have ever been in a canoe. Unfortunately, my canoe kept getting caught in the undertow. I had an enjoyable time at Outdoor Ed.
Outdoor Education is very important to children all over America because being outdoors and getting exercise is also very important. Exercise is part of a healthy lifestyle, and it encourages kids to have fun and be themselves. At Outdoor Education we did not just play, either. We learned about bats, turtles, and frogs, all the while enjoying it the entire time. Games were also introduced to help us wholly understand some topics. One of my favorite activities was a game called “Predator and Prey”. In this game, one group would be called the predator and one group would be the prey. The prey would get a three-minute head start into the woods and marshlands. They had the choice of hiding or running around. After the three minutes were up, the predators would come out after them. If a predator tagged a prey, they would march up to the tallying area. The predator would receive one point. After thirty minutes, the groups would switch. I liked this game because I enjoy running around large areas. It was also fun to get to know the woods better because there are many turns and forks in the paths. My least favorite activity was activity was archery. The most common factor of my dislike is the fact that during that class session, it was raining pretty hard and we were all cold. I did like shooting at a target, but I enjoyed the other classes so much, this was just not the best. In conclusion, I really liked Outdoor Education. It was a lot of fun, especially “Predator and Prey”. Although it had its downsides, I cannot wait until next year when we can go to Outdoor Education again.
Outdoor Education is important because some kids need to get outside more than they are now. This is important because the sun gives vitamin D. Vitamin D is needed for good heath. My favorite activity was preader and prey. Because it was very fun. It also teaches what all animals go though in the wild. I also enjoyed learning to kayak. Now if I visit my ant Jenny I can go kayaking with her.J My least favorite activity was the good buddies class. The only good part about this class was when we pared up with a partner and when my partner was Mitch and I was a mosquito drinking blood out of a pretend guy (a trashcan) and when Mitch sprayed me with mosquito spray I “died” fell into the trashcan and tipped and hit the ground and got a lot of lafs
Crimmson Hughes#10Outdoor Education EssayOutdoor Education is important because you learn things that you probably wouldn’t learn in school. It is also important because you get to learn about the outdoors and learn more. It’s also easy to learn there because it is fun. My favorite activity was canoeing and kayaking. This was my favorite thing because it took hard work. Plus at first we (Hannah and I) couldn’t go anywhere, but eventually we got somewhere thanks to our guide. My least favorite thing was frog hunting. This was my least favorite because I hate frogs. I also got wet and muddy clothes and shoes. Eventually I got used to the frogs but I wouldn’t touch one. My group said I could find the frogs but I didn’t have to touch them. My favorite game was Predator and Prey. It was really fun. Plus it was a good way to start camp. It also helped me personally get to know the grounds there. The Turtle Game was really fun. It needed good energy good sportsmanship and good strategy. This game was a great way to end our camp.
Camp Lutherhaven Outdoor education is important because you get to go outside and learn things up close. When you get up close to things, you know what to look for. But the best thing is because of all the fun things you get to do at camp. My favorite activity is when we when canewing and ciacing. Because I love being out in the water playing with all my friends. Also because it is one of my favorite sports. My least favorite activity is when we looked for bugs at the lake. I got bugs bites on the back of my hand. Also we had to walk through thick woods to get to the lake.
Outdoor Education is very important. You learn all about animals and their habitat. It teaches you some things you never knew about them. About half of the things we say about bats are not true at all, just myths. Archery and canoeing\kayaking are some other things you do there. You might need to know how to do these things in the future. My favorite game is Predator and Prey. In this game you must survive like the animals do in their daily life. Some people are the predators, the ones who search for the prey. The rest of the groups are the prey, the people who hide. The prey are given time to hide. When they are found they are brought back and the predators get a point. Then you switch, the prey become predators now. This is a very fun and you get to know the land a little bit better. My least favorite game would be the wetlands project. In this game is where you go down to Petty Pond and find invertebrates. This game didn’t really interest me that much. It was also really hard to find invertebrates because the water made it hard to see and some people stirred the sediments. It was also very wet down on the pier and there were mosquitoes (lots of them). After that we had identify them, which was even harder. Overall Outdoor Education was very fun and I can’t wait till next year when I will go again.
Why is Outdoor Education Important? Outdoor Ed is important because it teaches us about working together and learning about outdoor things, and teaches us great lessons and values (some of life), and some, just there to have fun with. It is the importance of learning about the great outdoors. We need to know how to work together as a team and work together, to have fun and teach you to do things you never have done before (opportunities). It is looked at as a learning experience and fun, and a chance to be taught about the outdoors. My favorite activity was the canoeing/kayaking because canoeing is great fun and it helped us to work together as a team. It also helped us to realize the importance of teamwork, without it we would get nowhere. And I learned how to canoe and I plan to canoe again most likely when I got to a canoeing place this summer, because it will defidentally be great fun. I didn’t like the wetlands class because it was wet, swampy, and muddy, and gross because the rain made it hard to see and I almost fell in and I don’t like bugs that swim in the water. This was defidentally my least favorite class, and especially it didn’t help I don’t care for the wetlands.
We went to out door education last week on May 27 thru May 29 it was lots of fun. I think that out door ed. is very important because we learn how to do different things than we normally do and learn to work with others. My favorite activity was canoeing because we got to spend time on the water and get to work on it with our friends. I also liked it because for me there weren’t as many bugs out on the lake and it was fun to canoe for the first time. My least favorite activity was bat myths class because all we did was acting out some pretty hard or very easy myths. We also got lots of bug bites doing that. Even though we got bitten and were kind of tired at the end I still had lots of fun at camp and would probably go again.
Last week on May 27 thru may 29, 2009 we went to outdoor education, Camp Lutherhaven, in Indiana. It was a blast of fun. I think outdoor education is important because we learn a lot about nature and why it is important. If we did not have the nature, what would we do? We also learned how to work together in a group and to use proper language, encouraging others on, not letting them down. Sometimes it is a lot easier to work in a group and not always by yourself. My favorite activity was when we went on the water to canoe. The reasoning behind that is because we got to learn the safety of being on the water and what you need to be aware of. Another reason is because water is one of my favorite things. Altogether my favorite activity was being on the water. I also enjoyed playing predator and pray. The reasoning for that is because it was a fun game to play at the end of a long day and just have fun with your friends. My least favorite activity was when we had to act out the bat myths, like playing charades, and we could not talk. The reason I did not like that activity was because it was really hard to think of a way to act out a bat myth and at the same time not talk to your team. For example, you would think that acting out that a bat is mythically blind would be easy, but its not. Even though they’re where some activities that I did not like it were a lot of fun. I would love to go back. Hopefully I will get the chance to go back to outdoor education, Camp Lutherhaven, some day.
This past week the 6th and 7th grade classes went to Camp Luther haven. We learned many things including our environment. Outdoor education is quite important in many reasons. First which is probably the most basic. You learn about the outdoors. Another is that you get to know about your surroundings and how they interact with you. Also it helps you know how to be safe in the outdoors, but have fun at the same time. We did many amazing things at Camp Luther haven, but probably the most fun to me was canoeing. It was simply breath taking. Being out on the water with friends that you may get to know better or to just have a blast with. The reasons behind this is because they were trusting you to listen to them and it was nice to know someone that just met you trusts you to have some freedom. The activity that I least liked was archery. My reason to have this feeling is that I’ve never in my lifetime used a bow like that, that was so taught. Also I didn’t like it because of how it was raining and the arrows kept slipping, but it was fun anyway. Camp Luther haven has been a unique experience that I would love to have again, especially because you learned which the teachers liked, and we all had a great, fun time.
I thought outdoor ed. was a fun learning experience.Outdoor ed. is important because you need to know some stuff about the world, outdoors, and the nature around you and how they survive. It also helps you to be active and to have fun so you can learn stuff better. I think the best activity is “Predator and Prey” because you have to hide and I always have camo clothes so I can hide easily and it is easy to catch people. Everyone is usually in groups, in a tight spot, or can be ambushed with your team. I didn’t like the activity when everyone had to match the animal with the other animal and say if that animal hurt the other animal, benefited one of the animals and the other was not affected, and if the animals were both benefited with each other. But over all everything was very fun and we still learned.
Outdoor ed. is not only a fun trip for the sixth and seventh grades to go on, it is also very educational and a great learning experience for all the students who participated in it. I believe that outdoor ed. is important because it teaches the kids to do everything from build fires to make a skit that shows the relationship between two animals. For example, Predator and Prey taught us that some preyed upon animals just hide and others run away from the predators. I think the best activity was hunting for frogs, because I always see frogs and toads around my house, and now I can identify what type of frog or toad it is. I also had fun running around while Anthony was trying to tell us all where the frog was hiding. My least favorite activity was Predator and Prey, because where I was hiding, there were lots of mosquitos and they wouldn’t stop biting me. Because of that, I left that very good hiding spot and then got caught twice. Outdoor ed. at Camp Lutherhaven was a very fun experience for me. I liked canoeing, catching frogs (or at least trying to), eating good tacos, watching movies, and hanging out with Grace, Louie, and Joy on the playground. I wish I could go again! :(
Camp Lutherhaven Last week on Wednesday through Friday the sixth and seventh grade went to camp lutherhaven, there were a lot of mosquitoes. Outdoor education is important because you can learn about all theses cool animals, how to tell them apart and you could even learn some new fun games. My favorite activity at camp is when we played predator and prays. My least favorite activity is when we had to balacne on that on that one stupid wale thing. I didn’t like because I don’t see how it’s was educational. We also went canoeing, went hunting for invertebrates, and went frog hunting. It’s been fun at Camp Lutherhaven and also educational at the same time.
Outdoor Ed is a very important part of our education. Here are some reasons why it is Outdoor Ed is not just a fun time at camp. It is a learning experience. It is a tool to help us learn about wild life and its environment. Like the buddy simulation we all did when we had to go around the room and look for our wild life buddy, and figure out if we helped our buddy or hurt them. My favorite activity was when we went out to the swamp and found invertebrates and then went back to the lodge and identified them. My favorite thing to find was the Penny Larva. Outdoor Ed is a very fun experience and I wish I could go there next year but I will be in 8th grade.
The camp was a fun experience for every one. We all had a fun time. I wish we could do it again It teaches us a lot about the outdoors. We can also grow more as ChristiansMy favorite activity was predator and prey. It was my favorite because it was really exiting. You had to make sure your hiding place was good so you didn’t get caught. If your place wasn’t very good you had to be fast so you could get away from the predator. It was a lot of fun dressing up in camouflage. My least favorite was the painting. It was ok but I didn’t like it as much as the other activities. That is what I thought about our trip. It was really fun.
Last week we went to Camp Lutherhaven for outdoor education from Wednesday through Friday. I had lots of fun there, despite all the mosquitoes. Outdoor education is important because you learn what you would need to know if you were camping. If you didn’t know things about the outdoors, you would be in trouble if you were stuck in the forest or some other place outdoors. My favorite activity would have to be Predator and Prey. Predator and Prey is my favorite because it is lots of fun to run and hide from the people chasing you. If you never get caught when you are the prey, you feel very accomplished. If you catch a lot of people when you are predator, you feel accomplished also.My least favorite activity would have to be when we balanced on the big wooden board with our team. It was my least favorite because it was really hard to balance about ten or so people for about 30 seconds. 30 seconds seems like a really long time when you are balancing a lot of people.Camp Lutherhaven was a fun three days. It was my second time there, and I would have to say that this experience was even better, in spite of all of the mosquitoes.
First of all outdoor education is located in Indiana. It’s a place of good nature and how God got around without complaints. It’s also a camp full of games and activities.Outdoor education is important because there’s a lot of things that have to deal with outside. Things that would go along with this statement is that you can’t tell what the weather feels like or how it effected how things looked before the weather occurred. It’s also important because you always want to know what kinds of bugs, animals, trees, and areas to stay away from. It teaches us what life is. The activity that I liked the best was the scavenger hunt because it had a lot of places to visit and explore and it really helped me get to know the place better. The activity that I didn’t like the most was predator and prey, because I don’t like playing in the rain and I slid down a hill and got my clothes all muddy. Over all I loved the camp and activities and places to go. It was an amazing trip something I had never done before it was great if I had a choice I bet I would go there again.
Camp LutherhavenOutdoor Education is fun and it’s a good way to learn. It is important because we need to learn about the outdoors and not just about the stuff we learn in school. We don’t stay in our homes all day so when we go outside we should know about our surroundings. If we didn’t know about the outdoors then it would be hard to go camping and do other outdoor activities.I think that Predator and Prey was the best activity because it was fun and it also taught us things. I learned that prey have to hide or else the will get eaten. Different prey and predators have advantages. For example: if the prey is faster then the predator is then the predator is no threat to them unless it sneaks up on the prey. The activities I liked the least were the ones where we had to work together because we all had different ideas and we fought about how to do them. If I said something negative then everybody got mad at me and we would fail again and again. Overall I thought Camp Lutherhaven was a great trip and I had a lot of fun.
Outdoor education was very important in many different ways. It teaches us all about Gods creation and just how beautiful it really is! No matter how many times I was shown something or taught something, I was always amazed. Without Outdoor Education, I might still be clueless about teamwork, the outdoors, and the beauty of the world around me. My favorite activity during Outdoor Education would have to be Predator and Prey. It was really fun (in my opinion) because you got to step into the shoes of the many animals around you. As humans, if we are hungry, all we have to do is drive down to a Grocery Store or McDonalds. As an animal, you either have to run for your life or hunt food down yourself. Even though it was just a simulation, it still made me realize how lucky we are and how easy we have it! My least favorite activity was the relationships between the animals. I thought it was boring because…well…we were indoors the entire time! I came to Outdoor Education to learn about the outdoors! Not the relationship between Barnacle and a Killer Whale! But over all, I think Outdoor Education was a BLAST!!!
Why is Outdoor Education important?Outdoor Education is important because we learn about frogs and other things so that we can live out doors without getting hurt or dieing from things like poisonous frogs. And out door Education is just like school but we are staying at a lodge and most of the things we do is out doors but in school the only out door thing we get is recess. My favorite thing activities were predator and pray because we got to run around and hide is we were the pray and if we were the pray we get to hide and watch other people walk past you without noticing you. And my other favorite activity was playing the turtle game because we got to run away from land predators and sea predators without dieing before you were ten years old.My least favorite activity was learning about frogs because I hate frogs because I don’t like to touch them they are slimy and squishy plus hate I insect’s invertebrates and other things that cannot be pets
Out door ed was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it to those that like the outdoors and science.Outdoor ed is important because it gives us an opportunity to be in a fun setting, but still learn. It gives us the opportunity to learn things we otherwise would not have the privilege of. It is a good way to do more than gust normal school work. We can also do challenges that improve the way we communicate and solve problems with each other. It helps those with a leadership role to flourish and grow, and helps those how have difficulties leading express their opinions in envirment that makes them feel able to share there ideas without the threat of negative comments. I feel the best activity at out door ed as predator and prey. It is the funniest game there, and in my opinion, it helps us understand what it is like to fend for your life. It can fit all people. Those that are slower then others can hide and hope not be found. Those that are fast can try and out run the predators. I’ve noticed that there are to types of people. The ones that dub thee full camo, and those that were the shorts and t-shirt are very much different. The people with camo are those that have experience with stalking other animals and know where a good place to hide. Others don the shorts and try to run; this class is the one I least advise are not skilled in the art of hiding. The activity that I found the least enjoyable was the mutualism skit. It was boring and I found it to lack a sufficient amount of usable information to balance out the shier boredom that experienced by the magnitude of information that, was not bad information, just meant for those of a younger age group then mine. It was also a little humiliated to get up there and try and put on a mundane performance without a suitable topic.
